Elder Scroll not working

Post » Thu Jul 30, 2015 7:56 am

Hi

I have been trying to complete the main questline so I can move on to the DLC.

I am currently stuck on Alduin's Bane due to an issue with the Elder Scroll Dragon.

I go to the throat of the world so I can learn dragonrend from the ancient nords.

I select the elder scroll in my inventory, the animation happens and thats it nothing else happens.

I have looked for ways to fix it and nothing has worked so far.

Just wondering if anyone was having a similar issue and if there is a way to fix it.

Any help would be greatfully received.

A known method of fixing this is by reloading an earlier save from before using the Elder Scroll in the Time wound. Also, leaving the location and fast traveling back to it fixes this.

Another method is to travel to High Hrothgar, enter and exit the building, and run back up to the mountain to resume the fight.

Another possible fix, after getting stuck in the cutscene, is to open the console and type in setstage mq206 32. This should let you regain control of the camera and a dragon should land, enabling the cutscene to continue.

You could also type setstage mq206 70 into the console to learn the Dragonrend shout directly, then type in setstage mq206 100 to end the cutscene and start fighting with Alduin.

As far as I remember you don't need to activate the elder scroll in you inventory, you just need to be in the right place and the animation launches automatically.

Are you using mods from the Nexus or Steam Workshop?
