Anyone else who didn't upgrade/canceled reservation get a failed install message for Windows 10 in the update history menu?

I booted up my PC but it had some updates for Windows, so usually when there are updates and definition updates for Windows Defender, my PC restarts like usual but this time it took a bit longer than it should. I checked the update history and apparently yesterday, July 31st, it failed to install the Windows 10 upgrade and this morning it failed to install Windows 10. Not update/upgrade/reserve, failed to install.

Even if I didn't cancel my reservation for the upgrade, I would of gotten a prompt anyway for when to install which I never did get a prompt that my Windows 10 is ready so I canceled a couple days ago.

Just thought it was weird. Everything seems fine...

Your Windows 10 installation folder may unfinished and/or corrupted. Try that:

1. Go into "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete everything in that folder. (do you have that folder ???)
2. Now, run the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow". (without quotes)
3. Go to your Control Panel > Windows Update and your Windows 10 should start re-downloading from scratch, hopefully without problems this time.

I don't have problems with W10, and i am not going back to W7. My antivirus works well, i have everything set up the way i had on W7. Plus my PC loads faster! It only takes 5-10 seconds to boot up and log in. lol

I like W10. Faster and better.

Forced automatic updates of, not just security updates, but "feature" updates sounds like a horrible idea. I've already seen what Microsoft calls "feature" updates by trying to trick me into installing Silverlight, Windows Live, and Bing a million times. No thanks Microsoft, I already paid for your product, I won't be giving you my bandwidth for free as well.

No plans on updating my current desktop to Windows 10, and pretty sure my next build will only have Windows in a VM. Will probably update my Surface Pro to Windows 10 though. Not yet though, there's pretty much no benefit in being an early adopter. I'll wait for all the problems to be found and then do it.

Reduced the amount of memory taken up constantly by Firefox which used to hover around 10 gigs total usage after a few days open with lots of tabs. Now hovers around 5.6 including other apps
