yesterday i downloaded metro 2033 on xbox live (i love the game)!

but i've noticed that it seems to have simular elements to the fallout series.

has anyone else who has played it notice the simularities?

Beyond both being set post nuclear war, not really, in my opinion. The metro games are both much grittier. Well, I guess all the metro stations and tunnels are in common as well.

They have some passing similarities but they are shallow at most. The gameplay and design of both are leagues apart. Eqch going for entirely different design goals.

But try RAGE, it even has the Enclave

Besides both set in a post-apocalyptic universe and some of the more basic elements of those kind of settings, I don't find them very similar. The Metro games are far more supernatural and darker in tone than Fallout. And gameplay wise, one is a survival horror FPS, the other open world RPG. Almost night and day. I would say S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a more appropriate comparison to Metro.

What exactly are these similar elements that you see?

Never played Stalker or Metro. I do have Stalker COP I believe that it is the name of it but never installed it yet. I might give it a try one day.
