Steam: discovery queue and recommendation problems

I'm been using the Discovery Queue on Steam, in particular looking for good indie games.

I've largely given up on modern "AAA"/premium games, after my previous thread:

Oh, and I got Descent:Freespace on a 50% discount (cost me only 3 dollars and IMO it was a very good value) on Steam. Why didn't anyone recommend that to me?

Anyway, time for the actual questions.

#1. Is there any way to tell Steam what tags I prefer and which ones I would rather avoid?
I haven't been able to find any option to do that. It would be nice to have a setting where I can mark some tags as favorites/unfavorites and also completely block games with certain tags from showing up in any discovery queue or recommendation.

#2. Am I missing something or are most indie games the same?

Note: This description excludes low-quality games (reviews mixed or negative), early access/betas, MMOs, and PvP games.

About 97% of the indie games I see are in one of these categories (and I like none of them):
-Survival
-Lousy Minecraft knockoffs
-Horror
-Point and click adventure (which IMO shouldn't even be considered to be real games)
-Uninspired Simulation (driving simulators, construction/city building simulators, physics engines with a few 3D surfaces attached, etc)
-Novel Mechanics (read: games making a bad attempt to be innovative with mechanics/controls that are amusing for a few hours and then irritate you the rest of the game)
-Roguelike (dying = lose your character)
-Lousy JRPG/anime style Final Fantasy clones
-Puzzle

(FYI: the remaining 3% of qualifying indie games are on my wishlist)

Am I missing something or are most indie games really that bad?

#3. Blocking games from discovery queue/recommendations by publisher, developer, or title
Simple enough - is there any way to block games from specified publishers/developers, or filtering based on title contents?

Digital, no offense intended, but perhaps you should take a break from gaming and explore other hobbies.. between this and the last thread, it seems almost every game alienates you...

and fyi, most JRPGs are not "final fantasy clones".. i can understand why you may dislike that genre, but calling them all "FF clones" is actually very inaccurate, its actually a very broad genre (just like all Fantasy Adventures games are not Zork clones)
