What happened to Horkers

Post » Wed Aug 12, 2015 3:19 am

Why in bloodmoon do horkers look like this https://www.google.com/search?q=morrowind+horker&espv=2&biw=1920&bih=979&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAWoVChMI3IP0o7OfxwIVzZaICh3biQxi#imgrc=WZDYDWv6SJ2j-M%3Aand in skyrim they look like this http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130724151310/elderscrolls/images/b/bd/Horker_(Skyrim).jpg It can't be because they are different species because the solsthiem horkers on skyrim look the same.

Yes, and the same thing that happened to Neloth. And the same thing that happened to Glass Armor. And the same thing that happened to...and to...and to... :)

Artistic re-visioning. I actually like that horkers look like giant, blubbery walruses.

This is actually one of the few art changes that's explained in lore. According to the Skyrim art book, a Horker is any sort of large blubbery marine animal, so both those in Bloodmoon and those in Skyrim are Horkers despite not being the same species.

Why does TESV Solstheim not use the same Horkers as TESIII Solstheim? That's purely a gameplay issue. They were already creating a ton of new content, making a new set of horkers wasn't high on their priority list.

Would you say that description could be applied to the Hork-Orcs that'll be appearing in Dies Irae? Large, blubbery marine Orcs? Orca whales? If you can't reveal that information, I understand.

Perhaps the Solstheim Horkers, with their luscious white fur, were hunted to extinction, at least on the isle of Solstheim itself, as a result of the massive influx of Dunmer refugees after the eruption of Red Mountain, who, unable to supply themselves through normal means, were forced to turn towards hunting the creatures so as to sell their pelts in exchange for much needed supplies.

There needs to be a creature mod so that the Solstheim Horkers look like the Bloodmoon ones. I kinda miss the cute little beasts.
