Interesting Character Stories?

The game feels more in depth, I think, when a character has a developed background and story, or characteristics and alignments. I've seen some forum posters even mention incorporating habits into their characters. Does anyone still make characters like this, with the game being out for so long now?

I've recently started a Redguard, Azaeus. He's an alchemist who lived in the cabin just off of Riverwood known as 'Anise's Cabin'. After being caught at Darkwater Crossing as he was making his way to a local ruin for research, he was caught in the fracas between the Imperial Legion and the Stormcloak rebels.

After escaping the destruction of Helgen with the help of a Stormcloak known as Ralof, the brother of the local woodman' wife, Gerdur, Azaeus made his way back to his cabin, only to fine it being inhabited by an old woman. Little did he know when he struck her down that she was vampire, but that was no concern of his. He dumped her body in the river and continued brewing potions as normal.

Eventually he made a trip to Falkreath to buy some supplies from Grave Concoctions, and decided to stay in the area for a couple of days. He found himself helping the locals with errands and crop picking. After delivering some mead to the young Jarl (a menial task) and dispatching a group of bandits for him, Azaeus was appointed Thane of Falkreath. He now travels around Skyrim with his Housecarl, Rayya, making profit from bounty work and alchemy.

Why are your stories so far with characters?

Keri Blackwood .Keri, is the name I use for characters I am testing something with. They may or may not develop into a full play through.

Woke up in the Bannered Mare with one heck of a hang over and a vague memory of a dragon flying over the top of her camping site. Drinking did not alleviate the memory if Helen and her people burnt to a crisp.

Being a good Skald (bard) she started composing a song about the sights. But she went and told the Jarl of Whiterun what she had seen. Then she took the carriage to Solitude to see if a friend would not travel with her, as the roads were getting exceedingly dangerous.

They are now on their way to having a few adventures.

Grayson, as the name implies, is the son of a Steward. He left home out of boredom, wanting to take on the grand adventures. Almost like an Erik the Slayer type. Young, excited and full of youthful exuberance. He had a pretty serious wake up call at Helgen and quickly realized he may be out of his element. Instead of returning home in defeat, he tightened his belt and made for Whiterun where he picked up some odd jobs and trained, eventually diving off into a ruin in search of a stone. Another wake up call, but the rush! To feel so alive while so close to death.

Along the way, he began earning enough to easily take care of himself, but that didn't quench the desire to plunge into another dark hole in the ground. It isn't the kill, it's the thrill of the chase to him. He's an honorable guy and enjoys his limited fame throughout the land. Now with a home, a wife, a Housecarl and a Steward, he feels proud of what he's accomplished. He can provide not only for himself, but for others while assisting even more. And that's what he intends to continue doing.

One day, he'll hang up the weapons and use magic only for tricks at parties or for children. Maybe then it will be time to think about kids and an easy life. Maybe.

S?ren Crow-Eye was born in Markarth to a Nord father and a Breton (Reachwoman) mother. His father was a blacksmith and his mother was an alchemist. During the forsworn rebellion, both were advocates for compromise and a peaceful end to the conflict. That never came to be once Ulfric took the city and killed all of the rebels. Though he was Nord and not a rebel, Ulfric still had S?ren's father beheaded for treason. His Reachwoman mother was burnt at the stake for being a "witch".

S?ren was sent to Cheydinhall to live with his uncle who was a priest of Arkay and a witch hunter - teaching him all he knew.

Now at 25 S?ren desires to see his homeland and has returned to reclaim his birth home (Vlindrel Hall) as well as to link up with some of his uncles old witch hunting buddies who have started something called "The Dawnguard".

Upon crossing w border he stumbles into an Imperial ambush and wakes up in a wagon headed for Helgen with Ulfric sitting right next to him...
