Thieves Guild, is it worthwhile?

Post » Fri Aug 21, 2015 2:33 am

Hello! I am new to Skyrim, and have not yet completed the Thieves Guild quest. I'm wondering if it is a necessary quest. I realize it is one of the larger quests, but I find it to be a pain and honestly...I don't want to be bothered with it! What are your thoughts on the Thieves Guild quest, and what are some other important and worthwhile quests, main or side?

Well you need to do to some radiated quest in order to become the Guild Master. Personally I say if you want to go throw the trouble and it fits your character. You get the Amulet of Articulation and the Thieves Guild Master Armor. So the reward is pretty good imo. You just have to decide is it worth it.

The Main quest is fine. I like it even though I wish it was longer. The story felt a little rushed to me. The Nightingale Gear and bow are pretty good to.

This is not a popular opinion, I realize, but I adore Skyrim's Thieves Guild. I'd say I like it even more than Morrowind's or Oblivion's Thieves Guilds. I find the story interesting. I love the other guild members and the dank underground atmosphere of the Ratway. I love doing all the numbers, shill, sweep, heist, ect, quests. I love seeing the headquarters improve over time. My favorite job is altering ledgers. Sneaking into a place of business and fixing the books always tickles me, for some reason.

Of course, the Thieves Guild isn't for every player, or every character. You may find that thieving just doesn't suit you. That's fine. I happen to love playing sneaky thieves and assassins. So the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood quest lines appeal to me very much in all these games.

If you find you don't like it, do something else. Do the quests that interest you. Shape your own experience.

Nothing is necessary, save it for later. Save it when you play a thief or a rogue character. But that's just my 49 cents...

My boyfriend loves the Thieves Guild, but he loves sneaking and archery and stealing, so that's his jam. I joined the Dark Brotherhood and though I loved it at first..I find it very disturbing to the point that it makes me question my own morals! I am used to hearing about the Thieves Guild everywhere, so I am curious as to why it's so popular. The most disturbing quest I have endured so far is the Innocence Lost Quest...and my favorite was probably Ill Fated by Moonight. I am not normally a gamer (besides board and card games..) but Skyrim has me whipped, no doubt!
