Flamethrowers for sale (legally)

Post » Thu Aug 27, 2015 2:33 pm

Not getting into the politics of it or stating any illegal activity as per forum rules, this is about the flamethrowers themselves. Who would get one?

The two companies are http://throwflame.com and http://ion-productions.com/

Throwflame sells them for $1599 and can shoot 50 feet, while Ion Productions Team is selling them for $900 and they have a range of 25 feet.

Check your state laws first of course. They are useful for clearing unwanted brushes for farmers, one example of use. They can be shipped by USPS (just without the gasoline as per USPS rules against shipping flammable liquids).

Yes, because why make compost when you can pollute the air instead. And it's totally impossible for a fire to get out of hand.

Not saying these things shouldn't be sold, just that if you're going to use one, use it responsibly please.

There's another civilian use I can think of. Fire departments can use these for controlled burns, to prevent accidental forest fires or stop them from spreading.

Very little about a flamethrower is "controlled."
Firefighters have been doing controlled burns longer than the flamethrower has existed, and much safer without it. ;)

Pretty sure they'd be illegal here. Not that I'm feeling like I'm missing out.

At some point, somewhere, someone has had the thought of setting another man on fire, but they've been too far away.

I have 2 of these already.

In Fallout Shelter.

I keep them in the first room for deathclaw raids.

Never been a fan of this sort of thing. As someone who is prone to accidents, I'm not really looking for free fire-induced hair removal.

I've some friends who would go nuts over it, though.

Considering all the paperwork you need to go through in order to get a regular gun over here, I can imagine that getting a flamethrower is either paperwork hell or illegal.

Considering people get asked for ID (I'm being deadly serious, and it's not just some one-off freak occurrence) when trying to buy teaspoons where I live, I imagine trying to purchase one of these would result in a fairly lengthy jail sentence, sadly.

If it wasn't for that then sure I'd consider it if I had money to... buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurn!
