Cannot get into Legal District

Post » Thu Aug 27, 2015 4:37 pm

20 weeks have now passed since this problem was first reported, and 7 weeks since Gstaff had anything to say on the subject.

Can I have my money back now? There has to be some law that states that when you buy what is clearly a faulty product you are entitled to get your money back.

I read an article on IGN about 2 weeks ago, where Arkane Studios hinted at their next big project.

I may be way off base here, but how about making the products you're already selling work properly, before you start working on your next big seller?

We're creeping up on 5 months now. and 2 months since Gstaff responded. They've released an entire new DLC AND announced a Game of the Year version. And we're still left with nothing. I'm pretty much out of patience for this nonsense, and as absurd as it may seem, I'm beginning to look into Legal Action. Because evidently, it's easier to deal with a lawsuit than patch a game.

Edit: I even said this would happen!

Not sure what I'm expecting at this point.

Ok here goes. I play on a slim PS3, my hardrive has been upgraded to 1TB, I have the version 4.46 operating system. The main game of Dishonored was fine., no bugs, glitches or issues at any point. I downoaded the Knife of Dunwall expansion with no problems, however I am having the exact same issue as everyone else on this topic. I am playing non-lethal, not hiding bodies but all "dead" enemies have been put to sleep with the bow. I have a UK copy of the game BLES 01674, connected to the UK PSN store.

Any news about a fix for this problem is welcome. I put up with the god awful lag in New Vegas, clipping through the terrain in Skyrim and other issues in what are fantastic games, but this is ridiculous. The dlc completely freezes my console and I have to reset it and pray that the system files don't get damaged. The dlc is still available in the PSN store even though it has been reported to you for five months that it is not fit for purpose. This behaviour infringes our consumer rights, but I don't want my money back, I simply want to be able to enjoy the dlc I paid for. Can we please get an update on a fix or some information about what is happening? Dishonored is a fantastic game and it is a real shame that this is affecting so many people's experience of the game.

Hi there. Seems to be a problem with PS3 systems and upgraded 1 TB harddrives. I have the exact same problem, but not on my second PS3 with a 320 GB harddrive. On that machine I can play the whole DLC. When I tested this, I created a new save game and copied it over via PS+ Cloud to the 1 TB PS3 and loaded it. Played fine until the first autosave kicked in. Then the PS3 froze. So I played it through on the 2nd PS3 and bought the 2nd DLC when it came out. Interesting thing is that I had no problems on the 1 TB PS 3 with the Witches of Brigmore DLC. So it must definitely be a problem regarding the Knife of Dunwall DLC with big harddrives / autosave.

Huh. That's...interesting.

I'm also using a 1 Terrabyte hard drive on my PS3 where this is happening...

It would be interesting to here from others (having this problem) if they have a big hard drive installed. And I hope that someone from Bethesda or Arkane Studios is reading this.

Just tested it, and it does seem to be the 1 TB hard drive. I'm using a 500 GB hard drive I had, and I can go through the area with no problems at all.

We actually noticed that not too recently, too. I've shot a note over to our teams to let them know you're seeing the same thing.

Thanks

I've been playing on the 320 g slim, and I didn't have his problem. I had restarted and have yet to go through that area again, and I will admit, all these complaints had me worried, so I had stopped playing. If it is indeed a problem with a 1T drive, I might just go ahead and give it another shot.

I'd wait to see a few more confirmations. I went through with my 500 GB HD, and didn't hit a single problem. Not even the tiniest bit of lag.

My apologies to Bethesda and Arkane. This isn't really something you can easily detect. It's a fluke we even found a hint.

Same here:
In the knife of dunwall dlc, stage 2 entering the legal district always triggers an autosave crash. The autosave icon will appear and spin continuous until I press start, select, or die at which point the game will freeze up completely and I need to do a hard restart to reboot the machine. It is a psn version of the game and has all the latest updates. I also have witches of brigmore installed. The hard drive is 1TB and the ps3 is a slim.
Seems like we might finally get a fix... It svcked not being able to play this awesome dlc...
Thank you!

This all probably has to do with the fact that the PS3 doesn't actually recognize up to a Terrabyte, instead only seeing between 700 and 800 GB (the actual number differs between systems).

After my download of the Witch ofBrightmore DLC and the 1.04 update, i've played again to the Knife of Dunwall and I have the same problem than before : the game freezes when I want to get in the legal district. And I have upgrade my HD to 1TB HD like many people who have this problem !

I tried to find information on how replacement hard drives are handled and I came upon https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/362/~/upgrade-the-hard-disk-drive-%28hdd%29...

If there's any further news on this, I'll let you know

Really glad to see new information is being received. Like I said in my previous post it is disappointing as Dishonored is, in my opinion, fantastic and different. What I have managed to play of Knife of Dunwall is enjoyable and I really hope this problem can be fixed for us 1TB players.

Playing Knife of Dunwall as well and it's crashing on our first generation PS3 as well (and yes, we have the 1TB hard drive upgrade too). Eagerly await a fix if possible - but understand it takes time.

I didn't realize the GOTY edition was already out - so there's probably no one on the dev team working this issue (assuming they've all moved on to another project).

This'll be the third time I've had save issues on the PS3 regarding a Bethesda product (first Fallout NV, then Skyrim, now Dishonored). It's a shame; I really like these IPs. Not worth switching out the 1TB drive though since I never have these save issues with other games - just seems to be Bethesda. Hopefully these issues go away with the PS4.

Ended up buying a 500GB drive ($65 + 3 hrs downtime using backup/restore method) and the save worked just fine once I loaded KoD up. Very odd but extremely glad I could continue (and finally finish) the game.

Good to hear switching to the 500 gb helped. Hope it wasn't too much of a hassle.

No offense, but a fix to the problem for 1TB owners would be nice. Glad Rubberlad has sorted his issues, but I resent the idea that the only way I can finish the dlc I have purchased is to buy another hard drive. This is frustrating because I love the game and really want to finish the story. Is there any indication as to whether this issue has been resolved in the game of the year edition?

Hello. I am on PC and have too encountered the infamous Legal District problem.

I have read the thread and there has been no reported fix for us.

Help.

Just opened another http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1500572-cannot-progress-missing-will-and-testament-in-mission-2/#entry23620713 over on the PC forum with the same issue, just trimmed to meet some PC specifications.

Bump.
