Do wards work vs Vampire draining attacks?

Quick answer is they should-for ordinary vampires. It's a spell like the others any you would buy or learn. Keep in mind it could only absorb the Drain Life spell for a limited amount of time. 2-5 points of life per second up to 80-100 points of spell damage. 30 seconds before the ward breaks.

I'd think the Drain Life for a Vampire Lord wards might absorb the Drain Life spell, but the amount of damage would likely cancel the ward. Greater Ward will take 80-100 points of spell damage before canceling and that would be roughly equivalent to a level 20-30 Vampire Lord Drain Life spell.
