XBox 360 - Disk Read Error?

Post » Thu Aug 27, 2015 2:57 pm

Anyone else getting a glitch on their Xbox 360, right after selecting the DLC in the missions section telling them that there is a disk read error?

I've been told to clean the disk and restart the xbox, which I have, and no progress...??

Is this common, or do I need to re-download the content?

Did you delete the content before redownloading?

Disk read errors can be common when the disc drive is near ready for a replacement. If you continue to experience problems, you might want to call 1-800-4-MY-Xbox

yes, I have deleted it and redownloaded it.

I have been juggled back and forth between Bethesda support and xbox support.

I have:
  • Cleared my system cache
  • Cleared the game cache
  • Deleted and redownloaded the DLC multiple times
  • Formatted an external disk for storage and placed the DLC there, since I was told that some DLCs are required to be placed on a hard-disk and the internal storage unit for the Xbox doesn't count as one.

Both parties are blaming each other and I still can't play this DLC. This is incredibly disappointing and I have lost a whole bunch of faith in both companies.

Agreed Shadowforx, this is extremely unprofessional, and by methods of deduction and no official help I came to the conclusion that in my case it is due to selling/releasing a product in my region which is incompatible with the version in my region: I am pretty sure this is illegal.

I am having the same issue with the Trials and with the Knife DLC...
Still no solution found, ShadowFox?

I'm having the same problem. I bought both pieces of DLC this week & have been unable to run either of them without getting the disc read error. The game was installed to my hard drive & was running without any problems so I cleared the cache, deleted & reinstalled both it & the DLC but had no luck. Tried transferring the DLC to a thumb drive & running the game from the disc in case my hard drive was at fault, still nothing.

After checking the Xbox forums the general consensus seems to be that the DLC may be region locked. I live in the US but have a UK 360, my Xbox account was migrated to a US one when I moved here. Any time prior to this when I have attempted to download a region locked product, I get a message explaining this & I'm unable to proceed with the transaction.

I would really appreciate someone from Bethesda clarifying this for me. If I'm unable to run the DLC then I can talk to Microsoft about a refund however I would much prefer a solution that allows me to just play the content as I really enjoyed the main game.

WOW, after all this time has anyone ever been able to overcome this?

I bought in august dunwall city trials and the knife of dunwall and never could play them, my console and game are NTSC and i bought the DLC's from UK marketplace so when i found out that the problem could be because of region locked i was like "Ok, my bad i wasted like 10 bucks no big deal" and now in february i bought them again, this time with an US account, AND STILL THE UNREADABLE DISC MESSAGE IS POPPING!!! I mean what the hell Arkane, Bethesda or Microsoft i don't know who's fault it is but how many times do i need to buy this to function properly!?

I'm guessing you aren't even looking in the matter but what the hell!

If someone with this problem is planning on getting this again on the right marketplace DON'T! This is not a region issue. I stand as the proof, don't be a fool and waste your money twice! You better save that for a game that has a decent customer service. They're always thinking of us like we're idiots "-Mhhh urrg hav u chekd that ur conzol iz cunnected to the internets? -Why don u redownloud" Yeah idiot yo also wanna know if its plugged in or if my controller has batteries?

Last bethesda or arkane game in my list!
