Where do all the dragons go?

Post » Sun Aug 30, 2015 9:54 am

After completing Skyrim, Paarthurnax and all the dragons fly off. The wiki says they are all going to teach the way of the word to other dragons, i was wondering where it would be where they would go off to when they are all done, as in when they have found all the dragons where they would go off to. Perhaps return to Skyrim and live peacefully with the humans, or flee to somewhere like Akavir or Atmora, likely somewhere where they can live in peace. What do you think?

I think they're not doing a very good job of converting the other dragons, because my Dragonborn keeps getting attacked. :)

If they're peaceful, they don't have to go away at all. They can live in their lairs, on top of mountains, and catch the occasional mammoth for lunch, maybe a farmer or two for dessert... ;)

Most of the dragons are still around, and re-spawn too,,though without souls. Parthy's special 'way of the voice' crew probably fly East back to or past Skuldaffn, places you can't get to see! That's because they don't want to be disturbed by some Gobby Dragonborn mouthing off Dragonrend every time they do a fly past.

A lot, maybe most, of the dragons won't be following Parthy. Odaviing kinda hints at it when he says they won't be keen to bend to Parthys tyranny of "The Way". The Way is a dumbed down voice projection, a token burp suitable for worship and veneration of Kyne without the Earth ( Nirn) shattering power, but most dragons will want to retain the right to shout full strength like a roaring tongue.

Dragons continue to have souls after the main quest.

No Lady Selene..( beggin your pardon ma'am) not the re-spawns. The first time a dragon is killed you get a soul whether it's during or after the MQ, but if you have already killed one at a certain place and then find it respawned later it won't have a soul to take. Bones, scales, gold, yes! But not a soul.

Now if the re-spawn is of a different type, because you have levelled up a fair bit since killing the first one, then the re- spawn will have a soul. But if it's a carbon copy of the original one, then no!

Take, say Bonestrewn crest if you go and kill the frost dragon, then come back much later you'll find another dragon living there.....if it's Also a frost dragon then you don't get a soul for killing it. But if it's upgraded to a Blood dragon then you will get a soul upon death.

Whether or not you are currently in or have finished the MQ makes no difference to this mechanic.

First of all, that's considered a bug. It can also happen if you're in a dialog when the dragon dies, or if you've fast-traveled. It doesn't always happen as you describe, and it's been fixed on PC by the unofficial patch.

Secondly, I think that Frost Dragons are actually of higher level than Blood Dragons.

Way off topic, but when I read the title, a song by The Hooters popped into my head. I had to share!

The MQ established that there are places the Dragons can fly to, that others cannot reach. I'm sure the less belligerent ones have retired to some quiet spot to throw a party to celebrate Alduin's passing.

The rest still hate you.

Ever since I first saw this thread, I've been driving my wife crazy... Wandering around the house singing:

"Where have all the dragons gone,

Loooong time paaassing...

Turned into suitcases, every one..."

Glargg.....it always happens like that for me with every respawned dragon that's the same as the original dragon at that site. Doesn't really matter if blood is below frost in the hierarchy, it was an example to illustrate ' different' breeds......but you already knew that eh!

As far as 'unofficial patches' go look at my signature and you know what I'm gonna say.........no need to say it then!

One day in the far far far future and maybe even further than that I too will enjoy the miracle of mod world.....until that day dawns I have to go with the game as God intended........Broken :(

I think God intended for us to use mods... :D Then, the devil took on the form of Microsoft and Sony brought evil and a lack of mods into the world to cause frustration and dissenion in the gaming community.

It's like "If God meant for us to run around naked, we'd have ben born that way!" Well, the game was created for the PC and mods were envisioned, but along came the Microsoft prudes... and the sony fashion industry...

Yeah, I didn't mean to be "correcting" you. It's clearly a bug that's not supposed to happen, because you have to fight that dragon, whether it's a "respawn" or not, and it doesn't do that everywhere.

And of course you need mods if you want to be able to run around completely naked.

That would work, too! Instead of suitcases, though, I would say "Armor" or "Weapons"

Ha! That is the very first thing that popped into my mind the first time I saw the title. And I actually started to write a post about it too, but stopped. "Nobody will ever get that reference," I told myself. :)
