What happens after beating all the main quests(vanilla+DLC)?

Post » Sun Sep 06, 2015 9:09 am

Hello.

I've played Skyrim a fairly noticeable amount of hours (940+), split in 3 classes: pure mage, pure warrior, warmage.

I've never reached lvl 81, even after exploring almost every dungeon and completing all the quests except the Dark Brotherhood, Namira, Hircine and boethia cult. My actual max level is 59, and my problem is that I hardly find anything to do, except fooling around in Skyrim and Solstheim just to beat never ending dragons and assorted enemies. After my first char I simply started a new class, to play through the same stories again.

My question is: What's beyond the main quests and side quests? How it is possible to go on with a class after beating almost every mission of the game? How can I reach lvl 81? are the some new procedural missions or quests generated by the game?

I don't know what to say if you're on a console, but if not, I'd say mods that add new content or change existing conditions enough to force a different playstyle. If you already use mods, consider reconfiguring them, or adding new ones. Getting rid of old mods can be a problem though.

It's open ended. There's no end to the game, just an end to the quests.

I'm not sure what to say other than to try exploring dungeons that you haven't before. As personally last time I reached level 58 I still had a list of quests and hadn't finished the Dawnguard of Dragonborn expansions.

You are probably fast traveling from mission to mission (quest),if you almost finished everything.Last time I was level 50+ i didn't even finish any of the major quest lines.

For me the point is not to finish all the quests,it's to enjoy the game and to immerse myself into the world of Skyrim.

Just to put it in perspective . . . I bought Skyrim about a year after it came out and have played it in cycles since then. I know for a fact I played 700 hours during the first sting of binging on it. I'm confident I've played at least three times that much in total but possibly as much as 5 times as much. Cannot say for sure since I leave Steam in offline mode most of the time.

I have yet to finish the MQ. I have never finished more than about 20 quests in one playthrough, and have probably played 50 different characters for period ranging from 1 level to 35 levels. You can spend aLOT of time just fighting non-quest location baddies, hunting, and exploring. If you resolve to play with a very different playstyle, redoing stuff you've done before (even multiple times) can be a lot of fun.

Pretty much. You can do what ever and when ever in the game. There's no end.

I have a rather long history with level 80+ characters. My answer to your question "How can I reach level 81" is another question:

Do you want to reach level 81? If you do, get to it. This, is something you set and do for yourself -IF it matters to you.

Speaking of the radiant quests, I've always found the CoW ones more appealing to me -although I'd still pick the odd bounty from the 'x inn every now and then. But that's a matter of personal taste. Having reached level 81 (my main goal), I now had time to ride to my destination, instead of fast traveling. And there's a lot in the wilderness gameworld to be found.

I also never wanted to confine myself to a single class -which is why I quit playing MMOs. If you asked me, specialization means less options, whether it's in a game, or in life. Anyway, I occupied a good portion of my playtime in exploring these options -and the possibilities.

Do you got all the achievements ???

Spoiler

---------

Also:

Prior to Patch 1.9 the maximum level was 81, since there was no way to gain any more experience once every skill reached its maximum value of 100.

With Patch 1.9, individual skills can be made "legendary", denoting them with an Imperial symbol. This will reset the skill to 15, and perk points used for that skill may be redistributed.

Gaining levels in that skill will affect leveling again, thus effectively removing the level cap of 81.

There is no restriction on the number of times that skills can be made legendary. This change makes it theoretically possible to obtain every single perk in the game.

You can level up even after reaching level 252, so you can continue to increase magicka, health or stamina, though you will have nothing left to spend the resulting perk points on.

Falskaar was good enough of a DLC I wouldn't be surprised if they added it to the official Tamrielic lands.

I have Skyrim for Pc, but my "rig" is quite outdated, since it is still 32 bit. So, I have limited possibilities to add mods.

I anyway would prefer to explore Skyrim and reach lvl 81 without the help of mods; I tried something, mainly follower fixers, graphic overhauls and new followers, but nothing really lore-changing, or lore related.

I also like my game mostly vanilla. Besides Moonpath to Elseweyr, Falskaar & Wyrmstooth, the majority of the mods in my load order are texture replacements and touchups here and there.

I will repeat what Pseron Wyrd has been saying for over a decade: "You don't beat an Elder Scrolls game. You live it." :)

I remember when that happened to me in "Ghost Recon", and I was REALLY upset... (same thing with FONV) I don't think that's supposed to happen in skyrim... unless you're on console, maybe. I know it didn't happen in Morrowind or Oblivion.

I'm having my difficulties today, so anything at all can happen. Just a few minutes ago, I was dancing with my wife... but she kept stepping on my hand...

For me (your mileage may vary), I play until bored. Then I roll another character, or take a break for awhile. I think I am on, maybe, my 50th character currently :)

I consider the end of a playthrough when I've done as many of the quests as I can, all the dungeons I can do (that usually means Vahlok's Tomb is my last one) but the last time I did that I only got to level 45. Then unless I have any outstanding quests or a few side quests to do then that's when I finish.

Don't care much about the quests, but might occasionally help someone in need. My character's fave things are traveling the beautiful land by horse and clearing dungeons. Happily, those things never end. I do use a mod to improve horses and another that decreases the interval required for dungeons to respawn. Happily, this recipe works well for my character and I. One character, 2400 hours of gameplay in Skyrim with no end in sight. Incidentally, the same recipe worked well for us in Cyrodiil where the same character happily adventured for 4000 hours before we folded time and space to transition to Skyrim.

I've explored a revived Forelhost, nice idea putting an unnamed dragonpriest as final boss! But the new draughr band before him wasn't that tough!

... and I remember well Forelhost was the toughest of the dungeons!
