Skyrim ignores other races and just centers on Nords.

Honestly. I've played as other races and you get hardly any credit for being that race. They talk to you as though you're still a Nord. Even in the Dragonborn expansion. I get no credit for being a Dunmer. Wth? That's what I don't like about this game. At least Morrowind and Oblivion commented on your race. But hardly in Skyrim. You get more credit for being a Nord and its like Bethesda pushes players to be a Nord. Well, I don't want to be a nord. I at least want some more commentary for playing one of the elf race. But no. Does anyone feel this way?

Maybe you shouldn't be a Nord then. Try being a Halfling or a rogue maybe?

Um, they do, to the extent they did in other Elder Scrolls games, which was largely limited to mentioning your race in passing. Morrowind only had one quest that was actually affected by your race and even that was a suboptimal outcome.

They'll mention your race in dialogue (unless you're a vampire), though bear in mind that the writers err on the side of allowing the player to learn about the lore, particularly with regards to post-Bloodmoon Solstheim, which was entirely new information.

If this one hears "Stay out of trouble, Khajiit" a lot it's mostly because he plays that race often... but appaerntly, you'll get the same with any other race.

Lots of NPCs comment on your race, whether you're a Nord or not.

Dunno - never played a Nord. I only play a wood elf. She gets a fair number of comments like, "Stay our of trouble, elf." and this http://i.imgur.com/H9fR4ht.jpg

There are a few other cases, like Hadvaar's race-specific comment during the tutorial after you create your character.. Also, Onmund at the College of Winterhold will condemn elves and their responsibility for Skyrim's low opinion of magic users - then offer a token "No offense." to my elf.

Overall though, you are right in that race does not affect much in the game at all.

He also says something like magic is mostly known to lesser races, no offense. He says that when I first meet him as a Breton. lol
