I've made more characters in Daggerfall than in the other three Elder Scrolls games combined.
My current character, though, is, is a Breton wizard I've arbitrarily called "Thyself," since you can change your name at any point; he's never had a real name to call his own, so that's what he's worked with. For skills, he's got Mysticism/Restoration/Destruction, Thaumaturgy/Alteration/Dodging, and Illusion/Medical/Critical/Stealth/Blunt/Short Blade. That way, the only six skills that level him are the magic ones; he's up to level 4 now.
As I USUALLY am fond of doing with mages, I tend to cripple them physically, to grant them extraordinary magic ability; I started with 90 INT and 80 WIL, but with around 15 END and 25 STR. I also only have a maximum of 4 HP a level; with that -4 modifier to HP/level, that means I get the minimum possible 1 HP every level. I also can't use any shields. His constitution is so poor, he's critically weak to diseases, too. However, he has x3.0 his INT in magicka, naturally absorbs spells thrown at him, and is immune to paralysis and fire.
Note that this isn't quite as extreme as some mages I've made, where I forbid them from wearing *any* kind of armor. And made loot-carrying even harder by only having like 15 STR tops.
Predictably, Thyself, even while lacking a true and proper name, found a ready acceptance among the Mages Guilds of High Rock, where he holds the rank of a full Wizard even in spite of his youth, after demonstrating a frightening prowess with his spells. Unfortunately, during his misadventures, he managed to contract, of all diseases, lycanthropy. The hazy rampages he's occasionally have gone on may not have raised much suspicion among either the guild or the local law enforcement, but have started drawing the attention of the Dark Brotherhood...
