Hi,

yesterday I backed up my Skyrim gamesave, because I wanted to start a new game(but still be able to play on my main save).

I then started a new game and saved it a couple times. Today when I wanted to play my "main save", I moved the folder with the new gamesave to my desktop and replaced it with my "main save" in My Documents. Whenever I start Skyrim now, my new save will be placed in my main save's folder. Even when I delete it and then start the game..

How can I play my main save?

Just to clarify, you don't have to backup/replace the entire SKyrim folder in My Documents\My Games. Just the Saves folder.

The only thing I can think of is the Steam cloud is replacing your saves. Go into your Steam Library. Right click Skyrim and select Properties.

CLick the Updates tab and uncheck the checkbox under Steam Cloud. See what happens.
