Steward issues...

Post » Sun Sep 13, 2015 10:17 pm

I had Onmund as my Steward at LV.

I asked him to follow me again so I could equip him with some better robes. There isn't an option to have him return to being my steward.

And if I say "Let's part ways" he continues to follow!

Is this a thing? Any way to resolve it?

Thanks!

I didn't see a bug listed, doesn't mean their isn't one. I would try reverting to a previous save and try again. It may just be a glitch on that save.

Once a steward, always the steward, so you don't need an option to restore that. "Part ways" will send him back to LV, which just might be the same direction you're going, so he'd appear to follow.

Did you get the "Your follower leaves your service" message? Sometimes the option you think you selected wasn't the one you got. I find you need to move it to the arrow line, and click on it to be certain.

I got that message the first time, but now "Part Ways" does nothing, I select it whilst in the area and he does follow me, as a follower would - I go left, he does too.

Is there a way to just remove him? I think I'd rather Marcurio as my steward anyway.

Oh, and I don't have save near enough to backtrack.

Now that's a bug! If you got the "follower leaves" message, then the dialog option should have left with him.

I think there is a way to reset this, but I don't recall the whole detail. What does "SQV DIalogueFollower" show? That quest has aliases for the person and animal who are your current companions. It may also have a variable or two that can be adjusted.

Aah, I ended up using the console command "set playerfollower to 0" (or whatever it is) - He is no longer a follower, he has returned to being a steward, with the steward dialogue options.

He was the first person I recruited, I just have two adopted children.
