~Donker Schaduw of Nacht~
-Dark Shadow of Night-
This aims to add both a little "quest", which continues the story of a rather old character I've created long ago for a Morrowind mod I've done, and a neat little "minigame", so to say, to the world of Skyrim.
A portal has opened up within the ruins of the Labythian and some sort of nightmarish shade creatures has came from them, attacking anyone who comes through. Maybe you will investigate and figure out what's going on?
Entering the portal will lead you to a strange new area, which seems to be part of Skyrim but feels it isn't. Perhaps it is a small dimension made to look like the Labythian? Who knows! You'll soon find out that the place has a strange connection to memories, allowing you to recreate foes you've defeated just to refight them once again, or perhaps people that another have met?
You will also find out that you weren't the first one to enter the portal, as others came before. One met his fate already while the other, a former Dawnguard, shall lend you a hand at combat along with his husky, while providing strange memory stones that are connected to this place, for a fee.
Do you dare to use this place for yourself and fight your old foes once again? Training your skills perhaps even challenging yourself? Or do you dare to unlock the secrets of this place and figure out what it is, and why it is here? The choices of yours to make! Perhaps unlocking the secrets will award you greatly with new equipment, spells, and more? Or perhaps you will die and even cause the end of Tamriel as we know it?
-The Arena-
The Arena itself is split into four sections. The Entrance is the first one, which is where the exit portal is. You will also find two Spawners here to use to help spawn bigger foes, such as dragons or giants, in the middle of the Entrance.
The second section is the Mid. This is where the main Spawner can be found and is most likely the one you will be using the most. This is the one which allows you to refight most of your own foes, as well as spawning in the new common enemies that are within this mod. Do you dare face enemies such as Miraak, Lord Harkon, or even the Gauldurson Brothers once again? Please note that you can face these enemies as much as you want and they usually require an item of theirs. For example, if you want to fight Miraak again, you will need his set of robes. Oh and don't worry, the new one you spawn will always drop the same items you used to bring him there, so no worry of losing anything precious. (Same goes for the Dragon/Giant Spawner in the Entrance section).
The third section is the Safe Zone. Not really a safe zone honestly but this is where Edwane and his dog will be found at. There will be a campfire along with three chairs, bedrolls, and an anvil as well. Edwane's chest can be found which will contain his own potions and food. He doesn't mind sharing them with out! There is also an empty chest which can be used for storage. So if you want to leave stones or items which can be used to spawn enemies here, you may do so as you pleased.
The final section is the Quest Zone. This area is in the back and is where you may use Quest Stones and other specific items to spawn special unique bosses, which are connected to a "quest", so to say. There isn't really a quest but for every boss you defeat, you get a note which explains backstory of what is going on or the backstory of a very specific NPC who you may also go up against here. Quest Fights here can only be done once but sometimes, a Quest Boss may drop an upgraded version of the item you've used to summon them or perhaps another stone item which can be used in the Main Spawner to fight a weaker version of that boss you've defeated. Completing Quest Fights also may award you with new spells and other items, which may or may not be useful to you.
-Edwane and his Dog-
Edwane and his loyal Husky is found in the Safe Zone. He doesn't do much directly to the player except be a trader for the player who only buys/sells the stones used for this place. However, sometimes he may run in and help the player in whatever fight he, or she, might be in. Though this is usually rare, as one have to do a pretty big fight to catch his attention or purposely run over to him. Ofcourse, his Husky will also join in the fight. Both of them are Essential and leveled, so no worries of losing them. They are also potential followers, but to gain them as such? I'll let you figure that one out.
-Practice-
There is a Skeever Stone for the Main Spawner and a Scratched Stone for the Quest Spawner. You may use them to test out the place for yourself before attempting to use them. Both stones are found on/near their respective Spawner.
-Spawners-
As I've said throughout this readme, there are Spawners. These spawners are symboled by a Circle with a Chest and Lever in front of it. Put the required items into the chest in front of it and then pull the lever. Boom! Something will spawn on the circle for you to fight. It basically works the same way as the Atronach Forge does. Actually, it fully does! Just without the Sigil Stone.
-Nightmare Enemies-
The Nightmares are a new line of enemies that comes in form of shades or a dark shadowy form of the creature they take shape of. There's an handful of them within this mod for you to encounter at the Arena. The Nightmare Shades also come with their own Ebony-like weapons, though they are weaker than Ebony and usually turn into goo (making them impossible to get) upon death.
-Nightmare Shade Scout:
The weakest of them all and only levels up to 10. However, they have high speed and can easily outrun most enemies. They also have very high chance of fleeing. They only use an one-handed weapon.
-Nightmare Shade Warrior:
The common fighter. These Shades move at normal speeds and uses both an one-handed weapon and a shield. They do have skill in combat and will not flee. They do level up with the player, starting from level 15 to level 100.
-Nightmare Shade Archer:
Same thing as the warrior but as an Archer instead. Be warned, their arrows do explode upon contact and make a loud noise! If an Archer spots you, then you better be sure that any other Nightmare will spot you as well once he shoots an arrow.
-Nightmare Shade Summoner:
These guys aren't much fighters like the previously mentioned but do level up with the player up to level 100. However, they have very specific unique type of weapons and they use proper summoning for their designed target. Anything and everything will flee in terror as these guys bring out their truest fears! Luckily for you, you are immune to their fear effect and can give them a run for their money! Just be careful as they could also summon up Nightmare Shade allies as well; all the way up to Nightmare Shade Liches!
-Nightmare Shade Knight:
Similar to the warrior but much stronger, a tad slower, and uses 2H weapons. They also have higher health rates and better defense, making them harder to take down. These guys start at level 30 and levels up to 100 with the player. They could be considered equal to Dremora Lords and Draugr Deathlords.
-Nightmare Beast:
Nightmares that take the forms of their version of a "werewolf" and as any werewolf would be, they are fast, strong, and are hunters. Luckily, they are pretty big and can't fit through most doorways. So use that to your advantage! They tend to be used as "hunting pets" for the Nightmare Shades.
-Nightmare Creatures/People:
Nightmares that take the forms of creatures, or people. Be it spider, falmer, Thalmor, or an Imperial/Stormcloak. Whichever fits the best situation to strike the most fear! (poor Farkas, they would go full-on-spider-mode on him).
-Nightmare Shade Lich:
Extremely powerful and high level Shades which are magic users. Don't underestimate one of these and trend carefully when fighting against one. They are usually high levels and uses a variety of high level spells as well as summoning Nightmare Shade Warriors, Archers, or Knights to aid in their combat. However, sometimes you might find a weaker one that can be defeated easily and whom can only use Scouts to aid them.
-FAQ-
N/A
-Known Bugs-
-Dragon Flying AI doesn't work well this cell yet, so all dragon bosses will NOT Fly (hopefully) until this is fixed. Please note that the Dark Shadow of Night Arena is an interior cell after all!
-If you mass spawn enemies, or at least have a dragon AND other enemies... There is a small chance that one of them will get stuck inside of the wall. So be careful. This isn't necessay a mod-specific glitch, just more of a glitch with Skyrim in general. This usually only happens when there is a dragon or horse within the area honestly. So as long as you don't spawn much along with a dragon boss, you should be good.
-Followers have an issue using the portal to get into the arena. If you want them to follow you, you might have to use a mod to summon them inside or use the console. Same thing goes for any NPC who is stuck inside of the place. They will refuse to leave the area. I currently have an idea of what is causing this and will hopefully get it fixed by 1.1 release.
-To Do List-
-Add More Bosses, obviously! Please make suggestions of any bosses you want to fight again.
--Ebony Warrior will come in V1.1
-Add Nightmare Random Encounters.
-Fix Issues with the Portal Doors and Dragons within the Arena.
-Finish more of the Quest Journal Parts.
-Expand Nightmare Summoner's possible Nightmares to summon. (Make suggestions if ya wanna).
