TES 5 Skyrim Mods for the consoles

Post » Sat May 22, 2010 5:43 am

I played Oblivion and Morrowind on my computer, but my computer is to weak to run Skyrim (i'm sure of that) I bought recently a Xbox 360 the only problem that every console owner experience is that we are not able to download mods.... I hope that in the new Elder Scroll every console (Xbox 360, PS 3) will be able to download mods? In the Xbox 360 the Xbox market should be a perfect place to download mods to expand Skyrim, i don't know if the PS 3 have such kind of option (probaly yes). What do you guys think about it? Should it be possible? Or do i need to wake up out of this dream? :P Otherwise we will have to live with that :)

I hope that such kind of topic doesn't already exist.

No, the consoles won't have anything to download besides official DLC. Adding a construction set to the Xbox would take too much time/encourage cheating for achievements.

Microsoft and playstation don't like third party made files on their consoles, so no.

To the guy below me, they wouldn't test it because that costs money.

Microsoft and Sony won't allow it, I'm pretty sure of that, unless Bethesda strikes a big, big deal with the money hungry bastards.

Yeah, unfortunately not ever going to happen. Microsoft I know won't support it, I'm pretty sure Sony wouldn't either, and even if they did it would be too complicated and time consuming to put the construction set on the consoles.

So, in a word: Impossible.

Microsoft has some thing against third-party mods on the Xbox 360 console. Although I have seen mods on the PS3. If anyone has ever played Unreal Tournament 3 on the PS3, they should know that you could import mods for the game by downloading them to your computer, and then connecting it to the PS3 and transferring it. I doubt that Sony would allow the feature for Skyrim, though.

It's the same for Halo: Reach it also contains downloadable mods. But yeah everybody is right i'm just dreaming about mods for the consoles, it will never be!

I've seen you bring the same temperament into several threads where someone was interested in something you care little about. Must you always be so antagonistic? Obviously it wont be implemented (at least not this generation), but sheesh

Don't forget to mention the PS3s lack of a good amount of RAM. In fact they both have 512 MB only difference is the PS3 has 25 6 for the CPUs and 256 for the GPU, while the 360 has a shared cache of 512. But I don't know the speeds for both only know that the 360 uses DDR3.

As far as I know the PS3s is slightly superior however it's true that consoles couldn't handle mods at all...even a high end PC has some trouble running OBs mods, so I can't imagine how a console would react to Skryim's mods :chaos:

It's fun to be the antagonistic.

Anyway I doubt it will ever happen. Microsoft and PS3 would have to regulate it and lots of money would "wasted".

It's not fun for people who want to engage in thoughtful, civilized, intelligent, advlt discussions.

maybe bethesda could convert some of the mods to use on consoles as official DLC but only the very best ones and ones that stick with the lore.

You might not care about them, but I love them. If that is annoying then you must not have any friends added because friends signing in happens a lot more than achievements.
