The Best Official Trailer!

Post » Fri May 21, 2010 11:35 pm

wow, i missed A LOT of action in that game. dragons? i dont know if you can face that one or not, but none of the recent Elder Scrolls have even showed any. and is he turning into a chicken at about 45 seconds?

You HAD to fight that dragon in Redguard. That was a memorable and fun fight indeed!

And unfortunatelly that was the only encounter with alive dragon (i'm not counting akatosh here). In battlespire there was also a giant sekleton of a dragon.

That was actually pretty cool :celebration: , if it had that music in the game that it did in the trailer I'd buy it, also it looked more cinematic than the other ones did too.

Be glad, it is just one of many tracks that are as amazing and breathtaking as that one. :D

And what has the honor of #1, Doc? B)

My vote goes to, "That is the second greatest exaggeration in the history of recorded speech." :D

Edit: And thanks for asking, you know I was dying to be asked.

When i checked the Pirates Of The Caribbean on a cybercafe, i felt uncomfortable and a little upset esteeming Bethesda was the developer of the game. I'm so happy to hear they're just the distributor.

Maybe POTC is not a bad game but the game of a popcorn movie from the developers of "The Elder Scrolls Universe" games"? Come ooooooooooon!:)

For me it was sa fight full of anti-climix. First time I met the dragon, I had no problems, and didn't loose any health at all. You figure it would be hard to beat a dragon who defeated a whole army -_-

That would be very cool B) Bethesda Softworks actually worked on a Redguard remake for the PS2 once, but eventually scrapped the project. Too bad, I would have bought it :(

Ah yeah, a shame. I've been kinda curious about the game, seems like it would be pretty neat to see an RPG of that style set in the elder scrolls universe. I really wish Bethesda would release more of their older, no longer sold games like Redguard, Daggerfall and Battlespire for free like they did arena -- the masses who only started with morrowind would like to see them!

I've always wanted Sea Dogs, but I've never been able to find it. :( However, I agree they all do look the same-ish, but I've only ever played Redguard. :(

Hi MasterChief007!

I found Sea Dogs for $10 NZ in a bargain bin. It has the same packaging as the budget versions of the Rainbow Six series (Red Ant/Big Byte). It's a lot of fun :) Arrr. If you live in the US, try Electronics Boutique. Same if you live in Australia or New Zealand - not so sure about where to find Red Ant games in UK/Europe/rest of world.

Back on topic - the Redguard trailer kicks ass! Way better than the Oblivion official trailer (although the music for that was pretty good).

I got Redguard as my first ever Elder Scrolls game in I think 2003. I was 13 and being the idiot that I was at the time I managed to lose the map of Stros'Mkai, Western Tamriel, the first Pocket Guide to the Empire, the accompanying comic book AND the install disc somewhere between then and the next time I got into the Elder Scrolls series (yes, I still have the play disc). The game was new when I got it. :(

It's a great introduction to the series though, and fun to play too. It's the only Elder Scrolls game with true swashbuckling. I think Betheseda should work on more TES: Adventures games in-between Oblivion and ESV just as a breath of fresh air during the long wait for the next proper installment.

Though i've heard so much about Daggerfall, Redguard was the first TES i've played too.

Here is a new link of a Redguard gameplay video at the start of the game:

The uploader, GrimTheReaper1990 has provided so many Redguard videos playing through the game. Thanks to him youtube isn't lacking of Redguard videos anymore.

You should respect that game cause it is a very deep game than it seems even for now. I think the scenario, plots and quests on Redguard was way better than Oblivion.

Players who has gotten tired of monotony getting experience and raise levels on other TES games should taste that great action-adventure game in The Elder Scrolls Universe. It has so many references to the other TES games like place names (For example Morrowind), Oblivion, Daedra Lords, Tiber Septim, etc...)

Wow, it's been more than 8 months since the last post. I really wish this thread to be more active and we have more Redguard talking going on here.

By the way did anybody play Black Buccaneer? I've read many good reviews about that action/adventure pirate game and may give it a try. I have a feeling that it is more similar to Redguard than Pirates of Caribbean is.

I bought Redguard on ebay a few months ago, but I can't get it to work, probably because the tutorial here is designed for XP... Uhm... does anybody know how to run Redguard in Vista or Ubuntu?

dgVoodoo was the best for XP and I suggest you try it for Vista to see if it works. It provides full 3DFX video and audio. With Glidos you have to see a big spinning trial version logo and you won't hear the music tracks.

I'm always perplexed by people who claim they can't find a copy of a video game. Are they unaware that Amazon.com has video games? You can buy used and new copies of both Redguard AND Sea Dogs on there, but without having to go through that bidding process on eBay. If you're a teenager/kid, convince your parents to buy it using their credit card. They should be a lot happier about buying you Sea Dogs online for 30 bucks than they would be about buying you a brand new X360 game for 70 bucks.

Some of the rarer games will cost you more, but that's life. For example, Daggerfall will cost you a minimum of 58 bucks if you go on there right now. I can't believe they even have a bunch of copies of Total Mayhem - a top down squad-based action game that totally rocked.

If you can't "find" a given game, you either don't want it badly enough or you haven't been using the internet as a resource. Heck, just type the name of the game into Google and go to the shopping thing, and you should find some copies.

I have watched GrimTheReaper's Redguard videos on you tube. I enjoyed more than in last I don't know how many movies that I have seen.

But what? He kills the dragon, and they are mad about it, the big battle should happen and there's no video.

Does someone play Redguard and is willing to finish what GrimTheReaper had started?

Redguard reminds me so much of Thief:TDP. Same sort of animation, in depth storyline, etc. They don't make them like this anymore. Thanks for posting the trailer.

My pleasure to share the great trailer and make people to talk about the game. Truly one of the best adventure games with fantasy elements and one of the most underrated games...

GrimTheReaper has done a great job with Redguard videos on YouTube indeed.

Just noticed that he uploaded the final videos a few months ago, after a ~16 month break.

I hate to admit this but I've never played a single Bethesda game before Morrowind. I am a HUGE fan of the Elder Scrolls series but I can't get arena to work with that %*$#*$% DosBOX program (and no I don't remember any DOS scripts. Hello it's almost 2010!!) Getting back to subject at hand, I'd like to see someof the older games pop up on X-box Arcade. Shoot for that matter I'd pay 60 bucks for a collected edition Elder Scrolls History of Tamriel kinda thing.

Oh and how soon can we get some pics of the new Elder Scrolls V? :obliviongate:
