Ready to take some action instead?

This thread is for those interested in creating mods that can collect revenue as per Bethesda's new EULA

5. INCORPORATION OF ADDITIONAL TERMS

In addition to the terms of this Agreement, any use of the Editor is also governed by the terms of the license agreement applicable to the copy of the Product purchased by You and by the terms and conditions of the Steam Workshop site available at http://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement/.

If You make New Material available to others through Your use of the Steam Workshop as a Workshop Contribution, You may participate in any applicable Steam program for commercial distribution of Your Workshop Contribution, subject to all the terms and conditions of the Steam Workshop

**********************************

Please do not post in this thread any protests regarding payment of mods - there are other threads for debating the rightness or wrongness of whether mods should be paid for

Please do not post negative comments towards any modder that wishes to make income from modding - the moderators have been busy enough deleting such comments for the past few days

Please also do not post comments that just support the idea of paid modding - there are other threads for posting such sentiments - this thread is about being informative.

**********************************

This thread is for posting links to resources and information that can help modders who seek to abide by Bethesda's terms and conditions and be rewarded financially for their creativity and hard work - this thread may be of use to modders for other games as well for finding information on how to create an income from your passion or skills

Remember please the forum rules that no advertising is allowed here - however the moderators have clearly stated that the discussion and support of paid mods is allowed on this forum

Can modding create an income or in other ways impact you financially? Here's an article on http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/242528/What_impact_has_the_game_modding_community_had_on_your_career.php

Perhaps you too may be able to proudly post one day that your sister earns $3000 a week from working from home - (don't forget to mention if she is making hats for TF2)

Here are some sites that can help you feel positive about turning modding into a future business:

http://gamasutra.com/ - a site for game developers has many useful blogs and lessons learned from indie developers - how much it cost them, what went right in development what didn't - since Bethesda views modders as developers try thinking and behaving like a developer in order to maximise success.

Not getting enough support here? Try http://forums.indiegamer.com/index.php?s=9bcb1c80f48b32d9200994ca09606614 and check out the forums for help and support

Looking for sites that are resource rich that won't make you poor - how about http://letsmakegames.org/resources/art-assets-for-game-developers/ who provide a comprehensive list of assets for developers

Please remember that if you are wanting to enter the paid modding scene the rest of the Bethesda EULA remains in force including

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY. ACCORDINGLY, SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Please feel free to post ideas, information on using licenses, links or references to resource sites.
