A BIG issue

Post » Tue Sep 22, 2015 3:48 pm

So I got a big issue on my hands at the moments. I installed the Perkus maximus mod using the mod organiser. Unfortunately the mod comes with a lockpicking bug which makes it impossible to open locked doors. Seeing how there were three different lockpick hot fixes on the download page I tried all three to no avail. I always merged. So I tried replacing the files.

This somehow deleted all of my Perkus maximus files and I mean all of them. Worst thing is. I can't reinstall Perkus Maximus. It will simply not extract the files.

Does anyone know how to fix this ?

I don't use the Mod Organizer, so I can't offer suggestions on how to make it work correctly. Maybe someone who has used Mod Organizer can offer some advice on that.

In the meantime, I guess my suggestion would be to try a manual install.

Use the bugfix file on the PCaPP page (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59257/?). I don't know why the versions on the PerMa page are still there. It will install itself as a separate mod.

Unfortunately it does not seem to work anymore. After using the patcher for perkus maximus and installing other mods it seems that the bug still exists. Reinstalling the bugfix did not work either. I am going to try out something with the patcher and the bugfix patch. I hope you can provide me with some suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

It also does not seem to install itself as a seperate mod. I have to either merge or replace the files when I install the bugfixes. Neither works.

Ouch! Hope you get things worked out.

I was really interested in PerMa but have spent too much time on my current favorite characters with SkyRe to start all over again.

Not sure if this will help, but here goes. I am using http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/63556/? with MO

Make sure it has higher priority on the left hand pane so that its scripts overwrite PerMa's.

That sounds like a load order issue. Did you check the bugfixes were loading after any PerMa plugins and SkyProc-made patches? (Right-side window)

@MO: Which version are you using? If you're using the latest 1.3.4, I recommend you roll back to 1.2.18 as it still has issues that need ironing out.

None of those issues (?) are related to this

Re: Perma, try deleting the Perma folder where the MO mods are located. Then reinstall from within MO. If this doesn't work, delete the Perma download file in the downloads folder (in case that's the problem) and re download. Then reinstall. If that doesn't work, then go to the folder where the MO downloads are located and manually unzip into a new folder in the MO mods folder. Then refresh files in MO. Basically, any folder in the MO mods folder will show up as a mod in MO. The problem with this is that you may need to rearrange the folder structure for Perma since the fomod installer would have done this for you. If MO can't install into an existing mod / folder, try renaming when installing to something else.

When installing the bug fix file, you can choose the folder name to install into. If this is the same as Perma, then you will get option to merge or replace (don't replace since it will delete everything in the Perma folder and replace with the bug fix file contents). Renaming to another name (you should also get some choices in the drop down field) will install into a different folder / mod, and you can arrange the order in the left panel (ie put it after Perma so the Perma files are overridden).

Responding to MO part, not the actual issue. Merging = append/overwrite previous version of file, e.g. add XZ files into the XYZ mod and ovewrtite when neccessary. Replacing = remove all files in XYZ mod and replace them with XZ files. So MO has acted as you instructed it to.
