Any way to avoid this?

Post » Sat May 22, 2010 6:33 am

I just started playing a new game in Oblivion since I lost my other saved game when my other computer suddenly died  . I don't want to go through the sewers again at the beginning so is there any way to bypass this part of the storyline or will I just have to play that part?

There are mods allowing you to start at alternative places, but I don′t know their names. Otherwise I don′t think you can skip it, since its purpose is to let you design your character and familiarise yourself with the game mechanics

Okay, thanks. Guess I'll be playing the sewer part again and fighting off rats. :toughninja:

Pretty much stuck with the intro. You can run through a lot of the stuff, but people will always advise that you role play an escape or try and decide how you want your character to develop post-sewer in that time. Then, make and keep a save right at the end of the sewer so that you can go back to that save and make changes to your character for future builds.

And of course the save just before the exit is invaluable if you care what your character looks like in daylight.

If you're on PC, I can heartily recommend the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25591. It starts you out in a dream world, and then allows your character to start in various different places in the world. There are enough different starting options to suit almost any roleplay idea, and the lighting in the dream world is much better for creating faces, in my opinion, than the vanilla in-prison character generator.

You are also allowed to postpone involvement in the Main Quest until you want to do it (there is a way of getting your character into the prison whenever you want to start it.)

1. make a save before leaving sewer

2. get a mod for it.

3. put on very easy so you can one chop the rats.

their opening post said they lost there save because there comp died which means it had to be reformatted and redone game data doesnt get saved unfortunatly so even if they had a save at the end of the tunnel it would of been wiped along with what ever it was that killed their computer ...

So it would be a good idea, on their new computer, to make that save at the end of the sewer, right? And maybe keep a backup... :)
