The Isles and Horses

Post » Sat May 22, 2010 9:10 pm

So, I recently bought a 4000 septim White Horse (forget the breed) and named it Silversun using the console. Now however, I have gone to the Shivering Isles, and because horses can't go with the player through doors, I don't have my precious horse.

First of all, can I legitimately buy a horse in the Isles? I haven't seen any mounts at all there, and I don't want to use a mod to get some. But I'm not above using the Command Console, so is there a command to teleport my horse to me?

Thanks! :D

As far as I know, there are no mounts available in the Isles.

To transport your horse to you, click on it in the console before entering the Isles, and then once you enter, type "moveto player" (without the quotes). I have no idea if this will actually work, since you're trying to transport something from Cyrodiil to the Isles, but it's worth a try.

Also, the breed is just called White Horse. :P

Thanks, I'll give that a shot. :D

The moveto player command is what I use on my horse all the time to bring her into town, or even a dungeon if it is raining outside. I would be very surprised if it did not work to bring your horse to you inside the SI. Once you know your horse's ref ID (either click on your horse with the console open or look up the ref id for 'My White Horse' on wiki) , you can also use the PRID command to call up the ID instead of clicking on the horse if the horse is not nearby.

Thanks Acadian - what's the command? (You didn't say). Is it just "moveto player [ref ID]" ?

I bring up the ref id in the top center of the screen with the command console by either clicking on my mare (if she's near) or typing PRID 4BF2F (4BF2F is the Ref ID for 'My Black Horse'. Obviously it will be diff for My White Horse).

Now, with the horse's Ref ID up and displayed, any command you type in will refer to that REF ID. So, then I simply type in MoveTo Player, hit enter, close the console and voila: the horse appears by my character.

This is simply how I do it and I don't know if what you suggest works.

Let's say I'm approaching the gate to Bravil and want to bring my horse inside the town. I dismount, open the console and click on the horse (that brings up her Ref ID. Then I close the console and walk through the gate. On the other side, I open the console again and her Ref ID will still be displayed. Then I type in MoveTo Player, hit enter, close the console and there she is.

I hope that helps some. :)

That sounds perfect! Thanks a lot, I'll try it later and see if it works! :D

(BTW, it was you and Buffy's tales that inspired me to name my horse! ;) )

Fabulous! Some of the University mages get cranky when Superian eats some of their precious alchemy garden ingredients. It is so much nicer though to go through Skingrad for example than around it. And the darn IC is so big, that having a horse inside there is very handy - especially to carry all that shopping in her saddlebags. :twirl:
