I'm currently using 2x 4 TB drives, one for media storage and one as a backup. I use a 500 GB SSD for the OS, programs, and games. It's a huge step up from the 1 TB drive and backup I had before, which I had down to about 100 GB remaining before I upgraded. While I will probably get a second SSD and RAID them eventually if I start installing more games, I feel like I'll never fill the storage drive. I guess I just need more music
I remember buying my first PC (an IBM clone as they were called back then) circa 1989. It came with a whopping 60mb (yes, MB) hard drive. My friends, who mostly had duel floppy drives and no hard disk at all, chided me for spending so much money on storage capacity I'd never be able to fill.
Lol yeah my first computer had something like 20 MB or so.
My computer now has a terabyte and i got it maxed out with games and music, i also got another 1 TB external that's full of more games.
If i had all the games i ever played, i can see me easily eating up 5 terabytes worth of space.

I recently got the Xbox One that comes with a 500GB hard drive. I installed GTA 5, AC IV, and Neverwinter and I've already used 25% of the total space....it's pretty ridiculous and I know I'll need a TB one eventually.
If I′m not mistaken it′s at least a painless process on the Xbox; just plug in an external one and go
i know i have at least +40TB of drives full of lossless CDs and DVDs saved to them (well half of that is backup incase any drive fails at all), with the originals in pristine condition. Essentially maintain a server for multimedia use.
I was doing the same thing not to long ago with a friend who was considering getting a 1 terrabyte drive. Now here I am with two of them myself. I got my first one about a year and a half ago and after a little over a year it was getting kind of full, so I decided to get a second one. Hopefully it will take me awhile before I fill that one up as well.
Haha, no problem, I figured it must of been a mistake.
It doesn't help when games like Metal Gear Rising are 2.5GB of game data and 23.5GB of FMVs. Final Fantasy 13 is the biggest offender having FMVs for both the English and Japanese renditions meaning approximately 55GB of it's 60GB is FMVs too. Also, megatexture games, blah....
I know nothing about it yet but I assume that's how it's done...I just hope that you don't have to buy an official Xbox external drive.
I′m very sure you can use any standard drive. I heard from people not even liking the Xone that at least you can do that
