To me, anyway
The set up:
I watch a Twitch Stream from Geek & Sundry called Critical Role. It covers game sessions of 5th Edition D&D with voice actors. This means that they really get into their characters
The group's "treasurer", so to speak, is a Half-Elf Ranger named Vex'Ahlia, played by Laura Bailey. Grog (played by Travis Willingham) is a Goliath Barbarian who is not too bright. Throughout the shows, Grog observes Vex "haggling" everything, from room prices to selling loot or buying potions. He decides to give this "haggling" a try.
What he (Grog/Travis) does is pure roleplaying gold, to me. Forget game mechanics! Forget party success or failure! Enter "Character Concept", for the win
