Fighting Games

any fighting game fans on here?

I've been playing alot of fighting games recently.. I find them to be great when you just want to sit down for half an hour and play something fun that isn't to story heavy (Granted, there are fighting games with pretty good stories and world lore)..

i had been playing quite a bit of the old Bloody Roar titles on my PS2, but also recently picked up BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger off of steam while it was heavily discounted (and thanks to the low system reqs, i can play it on my backup PC since my gaming rigs down for the count)..

enjoying Blazblue: CT so far though.. i like the art style and a few of the character designs, the sound track is pretty good, mechanics are decent and the different characters provide a large range of Fighting Styles.. however, I'm not sure if its input lag from using a 360 controller on my PC, or if I just haven't got the timing right yet, but I am having a terrible time activating certain combos (like Ragna's carnage scissors finisher), as well as back-stepping..

anyways, anyone else here a fan of the occasional Fighting Game?

I play BlazBlue and Persona 4 Arena, and lil' bro and I are trying to learn Guilty Gear, too, but we haven't played recently.

Lil' bro has Chronophantasma Extend for the PS4. We haven't played recently, though. He mains Ragna now, though he used to main Tsubaki, and he also plays Mu. I main Rachel (I used to main Jin but he changed so much from Continuum Shift that I haven't really recovered) and can kinda play Carl and Amane. In Arena, I main Elizabeth and I'm pretty good as Yosuke, too, while lil' bro plays Labrys.

Lil' bro has Calamity Trigger on PC, too, so maybe he could give you some tips, although I don't think he's ever played. I did Rachel's and Jin's arcade modes and mainly was surprised that my normal combo was suddenly doing 3000 damage and frightened that Baden-Baden Lily could do 8000.

I played a lot of fighting games back in the 90s, but since the Dreamcast I've pretty much just played 3 of them. Virtua Fighter 4 (PS2), Soul Calibur 2 (PS2) and Virtua Fighter 5 (PS3).

I play KoF XII and MK X when I want to relax, nothing better than ripping someone apart in a game when your raga meter is sky high :P

I'm old school fighting game fan. I think the last one I got into heavily was Mk4. My favorite of all time of MK3 Ultimate. Noob Saibot. Nuff said.

Though I did grab Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition when it was free on PSN last December. That was fun

I love a good fighting game every now and then. King of Fighters XIII, Mortal Kombat X, Ultra Street Fighter 4 (until SF5 comes out) are my current favorites.

Nothing like reconfiguring someones face to de-stress and express your masculine energy. There's something primally satisfying about it.

Speaking of which, the hand to hand combat in the new Mad Max game has a nice "crunch" to it, im loving it even though its not a "fighting" game per se.

I grew up on Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and Kingdom of Fighters. And some Soul Caliber and Samurai Showdown, too.
I'm having a lot of fun with MKX lately.
I still play the last Marvel vs Capcom sometimes.

I would check out the new KI, but I have PS4, not Xbox one.

I also have some classic bad ones for the SNES and Genesis, which are still fun to play with friends now and then. (Clay Fighter, TMNT, Eternal Champions, Primal Rage)

I played a lot of fighting games when I was a kid. Mostly the Mortal Kombats 1-3. Now I really only play the Soul Calibur games. Hoping for a next gen SCVI sometime soon!

Was a big fan back then, and still am now. Just don't play them as often any more.

But I've played plenty of them. Killer Instinct, Virtua Fighter, Soulcaliber, Street Fighter (although I barely understand this one, button mashing usually works out for me), and my favorite Mortal Kombat. Juggling with Ermac is my speciality. :disguise:
