Hi All.

Anyone had experience with heavily modded Oblivion and Windows 10? From my Windows 7 experience I turn off UAC. I am about to commence a large install which for me is a very slow process.

Would hate to find it doesn't work properly.

I've heard horror stories from people who have tried to convert, and personally I'm just sticking with Win 8.1 myself. It works fabulously, and I don't want to mess with this.

There are people on these forums who can help you though. Mark41 (I think that's his name) was giving some advice awhile back, and some others seem to claim to have made the switch.

Yeah, Box of Rain is my favourite song on American Beauty. Their live albums are what really got me totally hooked. Such a shame they never came to Australia where I live.

I had Windows 8.1 on my gaming computer and tried to take advantage of the free upgrade to 10, but like many others had it lock up during the install.

As it happens though I have just bought a new Gaming rig and was persuaded to use Windows 10. So it is now installed. At this point I can easily revert back to 8.1.

I looked up Mark41's posts on Windows 10 and the threads I read were talking in general about the pros and cons as an operating system. I am looking for specific feedback on how it interacts with modded Oblivion.

So would love to hear of any direct experience. Thanks for letting me know 8.1 worked well for you. I had Oblivion running really well on Windows 7. I held off installing Oblivion to 8.1 on my old rig, as I was planning to upgrade to Ivybridge-E.

If I can't get positive feedback on Windows 10, I don't think I'll take the risk. Installing 8.1 and re-setting things up will only cost me a day. It takes me at least three weeks to do a full Oblivion install (mainly research), so I reckon I'd have a nervous breakdown if it was a "Fail".
