Wildstar Reloaded

So, since the recent F2P launch, I've been dipping my toes into Wildstar a bit. I was a bit hyped for it last year, but after the launch, I decided to skip it. But now it's back, f2p, and largely fixed (according to those who would know).

Gotta say, it's alright. I'm loving the combat a ton, it's probably the best MMO combat I've ever seen. It's like WoW, if everything were an aimed AoE. On the other hand... I'm not loving the world. I dig the aesthetic, WoW meets Pixar and goes to space, but there's something about it that doesn't draw me in. Like, I can to this day log into every zone in WoW (except Silithus. [censored] that place.) and everything feels right. It's sparse, but alive. Everything is where it should be. ESO was quite a bit more "full", with a lot of stuff everywhere, but it gelled. Wildstar... it feels gamey. Plus, every zone is instanced. UI is also kind of a distaster, too. I'll have to play it some more to really have an opinion, though.

Anyone else get in on this, or played the game at launch? What are your thoughts.

I played it a while ago, I found it just "okay", nothing kept me interested in it sadly and I did not find a reason to log back to it.

I played from launch and wasn't a huge fan, though I can't exactly say why. I stuck around for a couple of months because my MMO buddies were enjoying it, but they lost interest relatively quickly too.

Having played a bit more of it, I'm really starting to warm up to it. Dominion-side starting area, Deradune, is fantastic, both aesthetically and questing wise, there's tons of content in this zone, and I'm having a blast there. I didn't feel that great about the Exiles area though. Having just finished the starter dungeon, Protostar Academy, though... Holy [censored]. The mechanics in there were as intense as a Cataclysm heroic in WoW. The end boss had an enrage timer! In this game's equivalent of Dead Mines! If the PvE stays at this level of quality, I'm going to thoroughly enjoy this.

I mean I'm no fan of the game, I haven't played it, but this really couldn't have been any less helpful.

Just from a cursory look at the game, I'd say it definitely doesn't fit the term generic MMO. Looks to have some pretty cool features and at least a unique artstyle. Gameplay looks quite different from most other MMOs I've tried or seen as well.
