Far Cry Primal

Set 12,000 years ago you play as a human named Takkar in the Mesolithic age. Losing your tribesman and all your weapons you find yourself in the land of Oros (presumably primeval Europe) where you are pitted against beasts and men in a harsh unforgiving world with varying ecosystems.

I must say out of all the past games I am probably most interested in this one. I'm really hoping that they have really focused on survival this time around.

Now for the big question: do we get a pet rock as a pre-order bonus?

Is it just me or Ubisoft is really pushing it too hard with the Far Cry series? I heard many fans say that Assasin's Creed series should have died with 3 because the rest after it has become mediocre despite the great graphics. Having said that, it's amazing how fast Ubisoft produces games. But since they have a ton of employees, this shouldn't be surprising I guess.

But let me tell you this: If I hear people crying that they got duped again by Ubisoft - specially after pre-ordering their games - I'm going to smack them with a spiked baseball bat.

Other gaming brands are already making fun of it.

Definitely. I also hope they go back to a minimal HUD like they had in Far Cry 2. There were way too many distrations on the screen in 3 and 4. I don't want to see enemies through solid objects and flashing objects and plants either.

The choice of voice actor for the protagonist is interesting. Elias Toufexis, known for playing Adam Jensen in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, was the original Jason Brody in Far Cry 3. When Deus Ex: Human Revolution became a hit Ubisoft decided to change voice actors. Now Elias Toufexis plays the main character in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Far Cry Primal and both are scheduled to be released on the same day.

Edit: name correction

If its just a survival game no thanks also by making it set in the past it looks like there will only be a few handfull of weapons to chose from and that will get stale fast......unless they go with a superpower/supernatural edge then that 'll be different

I strongly dislike Ubisoft and Far Cry is their only series I'll consider buying.

Didn't get Far Cry 4 but will most likely be getting Primal, seems like an interesting setting. I hope there are elasmotheriums.

Totally agree! The only thing on my hud I want to see is how much ammo and what weapons/tools I have accessible. No map or anything... Maybe an animal hide I can pull out with the area painted on it.

Also he's a great voice actor. I hope it's in an understandable language, though it still wouldnt bother me if it were in cave man... I actually like deciphering the language when shows do that :P

I'd make the bet that doing stuff with plants would be a given since the last 2 games had something of similar effect. Wouldnt it be awesome if you became like a shaman and you could take on aspects of animals?
