Looting Daedric stuff

Post » Sun Oct 11, 2015 11:15 pm

I killed two Dremora Lords during the "Pieces of the Past" quest in Dawnstar. Both had Deadric armor (or what appeared to be.) I couldn't loot it - it wouldn't give it to me. What level do you have to be to start using it? I think I was level 38 or 39 at the time. (I know - you probably have to be level 40 LOL) I'm now level 41. I'm anxious to get my hands on some of this, but this is the only time I've even been exposed to Deadric. Wait.....I also had another quest in the past (I can't remember which it was) where I had to go to another plane - I think it was something with Hermeous Mora. Anyway, there were like four or five Dremora lords there too, which left me empty.

I want this armor! :)

Daedric Armor requires a Smithing Skill of 90 and the Daedric Smithing Perk. Daedric Items are hard to find and do not happen very often in the Game.

My Conjurationist has been running around in Daedric Armor since Level 20, but is a Member of the College of Winterhold and has access to the Atronach Forge and a complete set of Atronach Forge Crafting Recipes.

Ok. So you pretty much have to craft it? I didn't do anything with crafting with this character. I've literally ran around the whole time and have only used things that I've found. I've never crafted anything other than the few things that the gal in Whiterun has you do. I guess I'll have to save that for the next play through.

Maybe I'll run into some eventually. I'm just wondering why - if there is a enemy defeated that has the armor, why can't I take it? LOL

FYI - The Atronach forge is not exactly like a regular forge. To create Daedric Armor you need a "recipe" or just look it up on UESP. Once example, you want a daedric chest piece. Drop an ebony armor, daedra heart, Centruion dynamo Core and one Black Soul Gem into the box. Place your Sigil stone (you have to have completed the Conjuration Ritual quest) on the stand. Pull the handle and voila! you have a daedric chest piece.

You will. On my current playthrough, I haven't really bothered with smithing and this character, looted a daedric armor (cuirass) at level 37-38 IIRC.

Besides regular smithing & using the Atronach Forge, the Black Market power (Dragonborn dlc) summons a daedra merchant who sells what else? Daedric equipment. Legendary dragons (appearing at level 78 according to the UESP) also have a high drop chance -however, I do remember them showing up at level ~75... could be wrong.

Ok thanks for the clarification, all. Drops at level 78 suggest that level 50 and beyond is most likely when I may see it. That's ok. I have another goal on my next play through now - get this armor into my hands as quickly as possible.

Daedric weapons appear in leveled lists starting at 46 and armor at level 48. However there's a very, VERY slim chance that daedric items appear at much lower levels in random loot. People have been reporting a very lucky incidents where they found daedric stuff at below level 30.
