I will be quite happily wandering through Skyrim when my character stops walking. I cannot move, sheathe weapons, save or even Alt-Tab out of the game for a few seconds. Then my computer decides it has received the signal after all, and every keystroke I pressed while it was locked plays out. This happens on-and-off for around five minutes before I then get back to a normal game.Other features of note:- Doesn't happen on every game session, I can sometimes play for hours and have nothing, sometimes it goes on for ages- Seems to happen more when in exterior cells, but this could be because there's more walking- I have already turned off the joypad/additional game controller option in the .ini file- I use an optical keyboard and mouse, but this doesn't happen in any program other than SkyrimAny ideas on what could be causing this, and how to fix it?

If you have cloud saving enabled, you could disable Steam Cloud Save Game Synchronization

How:

In the Games section of the Library, right-click at Skyrim, Properties, Updates, un-check "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization"
