GPU requirement stereoscopic 3D?

Hi there,

I enjoyed plaing Skyrim on a 1280x800 Projector with i5-3470 and GTX560Ti on "pretty much everything max" and nice texture / water / light / weather mods. Now or living room got an upgrade to a full HD (1080p) projector and I would like to continue playing Skyrim and try the stereoscopic 3D (with DLP shutter glasses, works nice on BluRay movies).

The performance of the GTX650Ti (not Ti boost) seems to be far too low. Can anyone recommend a graphics card? What's the most affordable card able to give me a 3D experience? Is the GTX9604GB sufficient or do I have to dig deep into my pocket and get a 970 model? Specs for 3D are hard to find :-(

EDIT: Please don't recommend and 45 dB+ cards, this is for our living room PC where we also watch movies and it's standing right behind my head...

What is the projector? You need to make sure it will work with what you have. I think the technology requires 120HZ.

The issue with SKyrim and nvidia 3d is that it will impact framerates. Essentially you are creating 2 images which can half what you normally get without it.

This will be further impacted by your mods no doubt. How much are you willing to spend?

LG PF1500 connected via HDMI. 3D-DLP (BluRay) is working fine, but it has a top-bottom, sbs mode, etc. and displays the video in 120Hz for shutter glasses.

How much does 3D impact framerate? Do I need a card that can do 120 FPS to get 60 FPS in-game???

I'd like to stay around 200€ (GTX 960?). I could spend 300 but it would hurt Budget quite a lot. Would have to reduce RAM, get a cheaper case, etc.
