so my desktop with Windows 10 just locked up only choice I had was to hold power till it shut off

Turned it back on and it loaded to a black screen with my cursor

Shut it off with power button again

This time did same thing but then as was about shut it off again it said "getting windows ready" then "undoing changes" then restarting

It then looped this for 15 minutes and is now stuck "getting windows ready don't turn off your computer"


What happened and is there a fix to this short of buying a new computer ? Or is there a chance a specific part has died and rest of PC is fine ?

Ever since I got windows 10 my PC would lock up once a week was never sure what to do about it and though annoying it never seemed to do anything

And before getting windows 10 running software tempature test things people over Internet told me my processor was running hot but was nothing I could do about it

Reinstalling Windows should fix it. You can also try the repair option by booting from the Windows disc/thumb drive. Next time, don't power down the System when its loading something.

How do I reinstal windows ?

Also my desktop was store bought and prebuilt it didn't come with any disc or thumb drives

Should have a recovery disc of some sort.
