What's the deal with Snowy Granius?

Post » Sat Oct 31, 2015 12:36 pm

I've had any number of times that Snowy Granius on the bridge to Arkngthand attacks me first, and the guards penalize me for his death when I defend myself. I've even tried luring him to the Fort without attcking him, and the guards still do nothing other than fining me when I defend myself and kill him. The penalty gets placed even if all the action takes place on the bridge itself. I've noticed similar behavior happen in the game in some other spots too, such as when clearing out a bandit lair, and there's no one around as far as I can tell.

Can someone explain what's going on? It certainly messes up the game when it happens to the point that I save the game before crossing the bridge and meeting him. UESP has no info about the game's behavior re: Snowy.

Sometimes the game won't register the fight until someone gets hit once, meaning that if you land the first hit (despite clearly being attacked by Snowy first) the game registers it as you being the aggressor.

it's a rare bug, but might be what's happening to to you.

I've killed Snowy dozens of times and never had Morrowind penalize me for defending myself, except when the idiotic guards jump in front of me and get hit themselves. It sounds like you have some kind of mod conflict causing the game to apply bounties when it shouldn't.

Yeah I've killed this dude hundreds of times, many times I attack first and never once have I got a fine for doing so.
