RIP Majora's Mask N3DS Nintendo cant replace a broken screen

Post » Sat Oct 31, 2015 11:20 pm

I had a protective case, didn't protect anything other than it not being scratched on the outside

since the damage was physical damage it wasn't covered by warranty i had to pay $100 to send it to them and get it fixed but they are either unable or unwilling to ...

could anyone thats done this before tell me what to say that would get nintendo to either return my console and the money I spent so i can attempt to replace the screen my self or get them to actually do what was promised when i filled out their repair order form and get it you know, repaired ?

is it better to respond via the email they sent me or call them and tell them the order number and reference number ?

your just going to have to go with a different color..

when they replace a broken screen, they don't remove the casing to swap in internal components like you can do with a Laptop.. they instead literally snap off the upper screen, and then pop a new spare one back on..

and if that does not work they replace it for another of the same model

considering your model was a limited edition, they don't have any spare parts in that color to use, or any of the same to replace your unit with.. as such, your going to have to go with a different color..

its not that they are unwilling, its that they literally do not carry the parts to fix that colored model, nor any of that model to replace your system with.. even if you get them to return it for you, there is nothing you could do to fix the issue..

your gonna have to settle for a separate color, or try and find another of that same model off EBay or something and buy that.. in the future, try and be a little more careful with your electronics :)

I'm sure there was fine print on the form stating what would happen in the case the unit was not repairable.

True, but don't have the time to disassemble the screen component, they just replace faulty parts.

If the collector's edition version matters a lot of you, then request that it be shipping back un-repaired and get someone else to replace the screen for you.

For the sake of how awesome that DS is and for all us Zelda fans out here, you have to get this fixed no matter what!
