I play as a Battle Mage (a Nord) because I thought that was the best one for me; combining the ability to use any weapon, some armour and shield, and who still was very adept in the arts of magicka. Level 25 now and I′m liking it. I′m not doing the MQ even though there isn′t much else to do in this game. I find the atmosphere in the towns to be fantastic (yes, really) and I mostly play just to break off with Oblivion and Fallout 3. I also enjoy the various quests you can get at the castles and inns.

So, what classes have you tried and which ones do you like?

Another Nord Battlemage for me. I originally wanted to have an Imperial from Cyrodiil, because this is what I am most familiar with after playing Oblivion for many years. This was not possible though, so I went with the next best thing. My character is Renee Gade I, and appears in my profile picture, as you can see.

Battlemages are cool because you get the best of both worlds, but it also kind of svcks not being able to wear any armor other than leather. I was reading about the various classes of Arena not long ago; part of me would someday like to try a Mage. That would be pretty tricky, I think, since Magicka does not restore itself automatically, but I want to try it anyways.

Being a Battlemage means you don′t need armour

My Nord is wearing plain clothes but thanks to his shield spell, nothing can harm him. Combine that with an effective Absorb Spell spell and you essentially have a god

I've only played one character in Arena. That was a Barbarian. Due to my Scottish ancestry I have a natural affinity for highly-uncivilized characters.
