Skyrim keeps crashing after I exit Ansilvund

Post » Mon Nov 09, 2015 5:28 pm

I don't know why. I've gone back to a save at the beginning of the cave and even before I beat the crazy necromancer lady, it crashes. I don't know what to do. I really don't feel like having to revert to a save from before I entered this particular cave, but I don't know what else to do. Can y'all help me figure out why this is happening?

I had this the last time I played with a couple of dungeons. No matter what I did it crashed when I exited. Going back to before I entered and then playing through again, I got past the crash.

It's like when you enter a dungoen sometimes, something fouls up. A way a random item spawns in a chest, some script misfires, I don't know what causes it.

Are you using mods? Crashing anywhere else? Texture mods/enb series?

I have a crapload of mods, but no crashes anywhere else. I reloaded and went back in and exited and everythings fine. I think its just something odd to do with Skyrim and not the mods like Devin said. I tried to load and then use cocwhiterun but then when I fast traveled back to Avilsund it crashed again, so I think I'm just gonna reload and complete the cave again under godmode. Normally I wouldn't "cheat" but in this instance I already beat the quest it's just crashing so I'ma try that and if it doens't work I'll report back

Okay, well IDK what the deal is, cuz I went back and completed the cave, no problem. But NOW, when I tried to do Boethiah's quest the game crashed when I walked up for no reason. So, IDK what's causing this. How can I post what mdos I have? I don't feel like typing them all out

You can export your load order. In NMM, use the button towards the bottom of the left vertical menu. Should look like a file with an arrow pointing right. It will say export load order.

I don't know about MO. Maybe someone can chime in on that one.

Well, in MO you can export your mods list in .csv format -but it doesn't seem to put them in the right order. The best way I've found, is to head to [your MO's folder]/Profiles/[your active profile] and:

  • if you also want the texture replacements, copy the contents of modlist.txt. Active mods have the plus symbol in front of them and inactive ones, the minus. It's important to keep in mind that this load order is read from bottom to top.
  • if you only want the active esps, copy the contents of plugins.txt. This, is read from top to bottom, as usual.
