Do you use potionspoisons?

Obviously you probably use health/magicka potions but other than that do you make use of them? Just asking because I never seem to use any types of potions/poisons except health and draught of strength ( I'm not a magic user in my current play through). Trying to see if maybe I'm missing out on something useful.

My mystic archer has never ever created a potion or poison but does make rare use of a few that she finds. She carries a few potent healing potions but only to pass out to followers (she heals herself by spell). Unfortunately she does have to carry a few to cure disease potions since that spell is criminally absent from Skyrim. She used to use poisons once in awhile but doesn't bother anymore.

Although my character doesn't use them anymore, paralysis poisons are pretty effective for those not immune.

Er no, honestly. I don't mix them up either, always meant to get into it but never seemed to get around to it. Enchanters' or Blacksmithing potions are useful if you're into those things, but only if you're making up weapons/armour for yourself they're too rare/expensive to waste otherwise.

It depends on the character. Some use potions, others do not; some use poisons, others do not. In this, as in so many other areas, I let my characters guide me.

Yeah alchemy is great as long as you enjoy switching between menus frequently, in a midsize dungeon I can use at least 20 potions/poisons.

The great thing about Skyrim is that it accommodates action and RPG playing styles along with the combo of both.

The first couple times that I played extensively I played only action and basically hacked my way through every thing which was pretty fun but now on my 3rd character im utilizing potions way more and having more fun while being more effective, im combining 20 magick/20 alchemy/60 warrior with great results.

Playing more RPG than action is a acquired taste because clicking through the menus will quickly bore a action oriented person but it changes the game immensely.

The first couple characters made it to around levels 40 and 70 I guess due to my play style I acquired a limited amount of weapons and stuff that didn't get great until around level 50,now im on 42 and have found/bought twice as much stuff with more than a few that I never even knew about like a waterbreathing helmet and banish daidra weapons.

Sorry for veering off topic before,I just wanted to add that not only can you make lots of money off things that you literally find on the ground but if you were to supplement your weapons and armor with just potions you can save lots of money also as opposed to spending thousands on enchanted gear.

I always enchant my gear with stuff that I find or are given unless its something rare that isn't showing up randomly like waterbreathing or absorb stamina.

Potions sometimes.

Poisons never.

It really depends. With a few exceptions (characters that are assassin types), poisons are never used. Potions... I only use restorative potions when in dire need during combat. My magic users use up magicka potions early on like there is no tomorrow.

For me, poisons and potions have me feeling like I am "cheating." Many of them boost my character above what they can do. I still have the mindset that if I can not defeat an opponent without the use of poisons or potions, I am not ready for that encounter. I guess many of the potions have me feeling like I am turning the difficulty down :D
