poison of lingering damage?

"Causes 16 pts poison damage for 10 sec,Causes 49 pts poison damage."

Can someone please explain this? Im looking for the best poison that effects everything including dragons and I've read several posts saying that this is the best.

So is it 65 pts for 10 secs and if the combatant is still alive after 10 sec. they have 16 pts returned to them?

Thanks

Also whats the best poison against magic users including dragons? It seems that most regen magicka so fast that it not possible to drain them enough to negate the casting.

Thanks again

16 points per second for ten seconds is cumulative damage of 160 points. The additional 49 points occurs immediately. So it's a total of 209 points of damage.

Edit: Don't forget to adjust for any difficulty setting other than the default "Adept."

Exactly what way is best to tackle a mage depends on how much HP it has. Casters tend to have lower HP than other enemies, so one good hit can kill them outright. If it's a high HP caster, damage over time effects, like lingering poisons, can force them to use magicka to cast restoration spells, which helps with long, drawn out battles of attrition, especially in combination with poisons of damage magicka or lightning damage.

I have found a recipe that does, I think, damage over time AND paralyzes! At top level Alchemy, I think it is like 20 or so (40?) points for 10+ seconds while being paralyzed for that same amount of time. I am unsure of the numbers as I have not played an assassin character for awhile :)

Thanks for the info and im using para +lingering damage now and it is great!

I love how theres so many levels of thought to this game, when I was thinking about damaging magick I was thinking of outright damage I never even considered that using resto the guy was damaging his own magick level.
