Anyone else very mildly disappointed but the lack of variety in the companions this time around? There are 4 human males, 2 AI males (ostensibly human, essentially), a ghoul male and a super mutant male, and two human females. (there're also two Mr Handys and Dogmeat but I don't really count them)

I'm hardly one to talk incessantly about gender or 'diversity' but this just seems a bit...unimaginitive? I mean we've never had a female ghoul companion for example.

Really? That sort of svcks. While that makes me hopeful for some quality boyfriend material for my protag, I'd also like to see some kick ass women companions for her to be friends with.

Well obviously being well written is the main concern, but I don't think lack of variety is an entirely unfair complaint.

It is right, I didnt count the Mr Handies and Dogmeat as really having genders which I think is fair enough

I am not expecting Beth to do much with Companions. They always left an impression on me that they are putting them there because of demand while they themselves don't want any companions in their games.

As far as diversity goes... just check Skyrim's marriage options to see what the lack of choice means.
