Either way, both of those parts of me of me expects that the disease he's looking to cure is "the old".
I didn't hate the dude.....actually I'm happy about the nod to Fallout 3 and look forward to see how he turned up. I bet the same people hating on him are the same ones crying about not being able to kill kids.
I thought Power Armor was something only the protagonist could use. What you can do is put him in charge of some settlement that is out of the way and you never plan on going back to. You never have to see them again and doesn't require any work. Of course, there is always setessential
I prefer a more subtile approach:
Me: "Hey Rob! You know...I do have sometimes some sort of visions."
Rob: "What do you mean?"
Me: "You know I see someone elses adventures. It's like having a memory...remembering something."
Rob: "And what did you see?"
Me: "I saw you, as a kid. A Town called little lamplight. And you stole a guy alot of time by annoying him."
Rob: "Oh him! Ha! I remember, that was funny!"
Me: *draws his sawed-off shotgun, fires, Robs head bursts apart*
"Don't even think about annoying me, little ****er!"
But yeah, don't like him either. He was the reason I made children killable in my FO3 version. A simple check in the GECK .
Yip. Definitely gonna have to romance MacCready simply based off of the amount of hate the fanbase is shovelling in his direction.
Here's a thought... how about you guys actually meet the advlt MacCready grows into in the ten years since we've last seen him before deciding that you hate him and he should die? I mean, yeah, he was an annoying little brat in FO3 - but considering he was just a child, put in charge of protecting other children against the horrors outside, can you really blame the kid for trying to play tough guy and being kind of obnoxious? And as for his role in the main quest, yeah the circumstances were a little ridiculous, but the whole main quest in FO3 had you walking from location to location doing favors for people and killing stuff, so I don't see why having to go to Paradise Falls is such a big deal to people.
Well, whatever. I personally plan to meet the kid and get to know him as he is now before forming an opinion. I mean, yeah if his twenty-year-old self has exactly the same personality as his ten-year-old self, that's an issue. But that'd be true for anyone.
Howard: "Well...Firstly...How dare you speak to me."
MacCready sounds like dinner for deathclaws.
I don't get the hate. I think this is a cool tie-in with FO3.
People complaining that Little Lamplight doesn't make sense and isn't realistic? Um.... this is Fallout, and it is an homage to Mad Max. And what, did everyone also hate the Antagonizer? There are a lot of silly things in Fallout, but that's part of what makes the universe so great.
And why not see what became of MacReady? Sure he was obnoxious in FO3, but that was intentional, and was a small part of what made Little Lamplight unique.
I just read major of limplight and already decided I'm shooting him in the face and feeding his corpse to a deathclaw.
