How do you obtain fusion cores? : Fallout 4

I havent yet started the game, but something that has been in the back of my mind has been, how do you obtain fusion cores?

Can you craft them? What do you need?

Does the brotherhood sell them? Are they expensive?

How rare are they to just find?

I sit on 8 of them and i just gave 3 of them away as a "welcome" present. They can be found or bought. So they are rare but if you want them ull find a way to get them.

Most of mine are ones I found
