fallout 4 Map size speculation

the world showcased in the trailer looked pretty big. Let alone the city was HUGE judging by the draw distance. Just look at the last few seconds of the trailer, you can see the city in the far distance...world's definitely gonna be big. The rumours of it being 3 times the size of Skyrim might be true...and I love it.

Boston is likely to be very big but I think it'll most likely be the only proper city. The rest will most likely be towns and villages smaller than Skyrim's cities and towns. I don't think Beth could give us a huge city with Boston and still give us more than a few big towns.

I'd say I am confident saying that the game will be three times the size. It could even range to 4x the size. I come to this conclusion because the city we saw (Boston) is rather large. I would think that the wasteland will remain proportioned to the size/scope of that city.

Even that would be fine. I mean Boston appears to be split into multiple communities anyway (like how D.C. was). The scope of Boston just looks so much larger than anything DC had. It also looks like it's more practical than the D.C. ruins in Fallout 3. Also, in other screen shots you can't even see the city, so that's cool.

I'd guess 1.5 the size of Skyrim.

People saying it'll be 2x or 3x the size and expect the same level of detail are likely to be very disappointed(unless they mean 2 or 3 times bigger than F3 and not Skyrim). There's no way that Bethesda could make a world that much bigger than Skyrim's and still fill all of it with interesting locations. Itf they want to maintain the same level of detail, I'd expect no bigger than 1.5x or 1.75x. If they do make it bigger than that, the world will be less full of things and there'll be a lot more empty space than in previous games.

This is a good thing.. There should be more space inbetween locations and that was a flaw in new vegas + fallout 3.. We don't need to fill up every single piece of the map with some location or another. Just space things out further

Yea, hopefully the first major town isn't right down the street from the vault.
