Unexpectable Bethesda, a very poor first memory for me to have of this game. I expected better
You don't need two threads. The other has been closed.
I agree , ive been on the power armor loading screen where it loops music for HOURS left it on overnight as well and still no response . Very frustrated Poor Poor work bethesda .
Im having as well, i went through support and they just linked me to a bunch of unrelated threads...
Edit: I actually just fixed it, turned off my xbox, unplugged it as well so it wouldn't run at all in the background waited 10 minutes, and tried again. so worth a shot
jesus christ. I'm having a bug too, but I'm not whining about it like some of you guys are. Just make a thread and/or trouble ticket and hope they get your issue resolved quickly. How you're acting resolves nothing and honestly if I was working for Bethesda, I'd find some way to make sure you got the bug fix last.
It's a massive, open world, unscripted sandbox game. Unforeseeable and unpredictable [censored] is going to happen. But continue being whiny [censored] about it. See how much that helps you're plight.
Uh, no!!! So wrong. It is an open world game but it is in no way unscripted. I agree with OP in that it is unacceptable for a game to act this way at launch. I was one of the lucky ones and have only had one screen freeze and one mission glitch in 13 hours of playing. But to say unforeseeable and unpredictable things are going to happen is fine as problems do crop up, but not out of the box like have been happening with Fallout 4. I mean seriously, what happened to testing a game before its released!!! And what pisses me off more is the moderator came on here and replied to OP saying he doesn't need 2 of the same posts but then completely ignored the issue he was having. What the hell!!!
Ok, so it's been a few days and I've had time to calm down. I apologize for my previous abusive language, but I still find frustrating the amount of obsequious devotion some people have been giving to Bethesda in the wake of what is perhaps their most disastrous launch ever.
Please understand that if I act outraged over the state of this game, it is only out of love. There are few (if any) other game studios that have ever caused me to have such high expectations from them as Bethesda. I understand and accept that games as absolutely massive as Fallout 4 will have bugs. I remember with great fondness the night I first played Skyrim. It was launch night, and yes, there were the occasional hiccups and crashes, but it was nonetheless far beyond the high par of quality that even Bethesda had set for themselves.
Fast forward to this past tuesday; the game which I booted up that midnight did not just have a few bugs, it was COMPLETELY UNPLAYABLE. After an excruciating first load screen (I timed it at roughly seven minutes), I was met by an opening sequence that was so unstable that I could not even get myself into the vault for the first time. Every time, without fail, the game would either crash, or certain scripted events (such as the soldier letting me through the gate) would fail to execute.
Now that I have managed to re-install my digital copy of the game, I find that there are still locations, such as the more dense parts of the Boston ruins, where the game crashes regularly and fails to load the interiors of buildings without exception. I have also had at least 2 quests become impossible to finish due to the quest log not updating upon completion of tasks.
I stand by my original argument in stating that this game has been given to us in unacceptable condition. While I do appreciate how swiftly Bethesda has updated and fixed many problems, the fact that they have done this so quickly and easily makes me wonder why it all wasn't taken care of before launch. I distinctly remember a certain interview with Todd Howard in which he actually admitted that they do not even focus test their games. Baffling, truly baffling. Either Bethesda is so overconfident that they would forgo proper testing, thinking it unnecessary, or they simply don't care.
Either way, I am thoroughly saddened that Bethesda too has fallen into the next-gen rut of releasing broken games and patching them later. I expected better from you guys, really I did. I am hurt and made to feel pessimistic about the state of the gaming industry as a whole when we cannot even count on companies as revered as Bethesda to respect their fans enough to hand them a working product for their hard earned cash.
I have the same issue with the first load screen taking forever to load. Also have random freezes like crazy as well.
And Support says "oh clear your cache and reinstall"
Let me see...i wasnt born yesterday. I did all that BEFORE I even contacted them and then somehow they tell me it's my Xbox. WTF!?!?!? the issue lies with their game, but lets blame the system/console? Why are gaming companies trying so hard to pass the blame to something that obviously it isnt. I can play ESO and even COD: Ghosts with no issues, but this game...holy hell
