Why not take several of the good qualities of Bethesda's games and put it into its next game. I am all for everything you mentioned in your post.

I don't particularly want to neuter Robert House.

Yes, I would make it look like new.

I just about always got the Megaton house fixed up in FO3 and gathered up stuff to decorate it (teddy bears, garden gnomes <3). Hearthfire homes were a great addition to Skyrim.

I'll end up using a mod home anyway.

House is a businessmen. Furthermore he is strictly lawfull neutral. The Law of a probable outcome rulles his decitionmaking. If you Can present a Good deal, where he benefits sufficiently, there is no reason why he would not accept it.

Or perhaps you mean that you would not be interested in carving out another Hansa city State?

I would. But then Again I tend to try to get everything and everybody to play by my rules, or just Playing by rules I know better.

Do you mean why shouldn't Fallout 4 be Skyrim with a paintjob?

I really feel that a home base, even a temporary one is a good idea. Loot storage and inventory items need to be better implemented.

That garage in the trailer looks exactly like a player home. But its a bit bare...

It needs atleast a good set of strong walls encasing it. And be upgraded to more of a compound, and be as high security as possible. If we actually have to defend it against raiders, I would love that.

Make it look new for cosmetic or for practical purposes? I don't much care about putting new paint on it and filling it with pre-War pictures, but adding fortification to make it repel attacks and also add some hi-tech lab in there would be nice.

I'm hoping the reloading bench and workbench return. That, plus some storage for all the useless crap I'm sure to accumulate, is all I really need. My favorite Fallout residence is still Harper's Shack from FNV.

It would be nice if the workbenches have their own storage units that are accessed when we activate the bench. That way we won't have to fill and empty our own inventories so often.

(I'll rebuild/improve any Hearthfire style housing, sure. But I might not actually live there.)

I want a watered down SINK, but I still want a plant growing area for making stimpacks.

Money has hardly ever been an issue in Falluot/TES games.. so I'd probably end up (at some point) fixing it all up.

I think it's a given that Fallout 4 will have customizable housing options. I'm sure I mentioned it somewhere before, but "recycling" a building is probably the way we'll go in Fallout 4, rather than buying property and building from scratch.... The "garage" we see in the promo trailer and the "welcome home" text with this image on the fallout4 website are pretty conclusive evidence. By the way the garage is larger than the cropped image, to the right of the garage door was some extra brick wall, plus there's a big lettered sign on the top of the roof...

I'm hoping that not only can we fix it, but that we find holo-tapes of new music to program it with, as we hike about the country. BGS could even load more music to find via DLC or with their patches....

Well....

....I prefer camp out in the wild, and when I am in town, visit a hotel or motel or whatever is in the town to rest. I will love to see a camping system in the game.

.

Having to create a fireplace and camp in any location could be more awesome or better than just having or owning a house. Or both could work for the people that like variety.

I would actually be most content with having portable containers, bedrolls, crafting and triage. I get the most from converting various locations into base camps.

I had to implement mods to randomly spawn enemies to threaten the place from time to time. Super Duper Mart was always a player home. Even before I moved to PC.
