Most of Bethesda's game have not been fall releases.
Delays used to be pretty standard procedure with Bethesda, actually. Morrowind was delayed from 2001 to 2002. Oblivion was delayed from 2005 to 2006.

I'm not sure how pre-order at Amazon works, but is their printed release date of December 31, 2015 a guess?
