Companion stole my power armor!

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 4:33 pm

Piper just picked up my power armor, and now I can't get her to get out of it, even if all the armor plates have been damaged so they don't offer any protection.

Is this a bug, or am I supposed to be able to get her to take it off?

I don't have the game yet, but there is something you can do to stop followers from stealing Power Armor. Take the fusion cores whenever you can, that way NPCs won't jack them. That's all I got so far maybe someone has better advice for you.

Thanks, found that tip too, but sadly can't do it after the fact :( I have another frame though so it's not a problem for me, but it buggs me that piper runs around in it all the time now :( And leaving her for another companion didn't make her take it off either.

Er... now she finally left it, but now she is naked instead D: is there a way to get her to re-equip her gear?

Remove the Fusion Core to avoid people playing with your gear.

This.

Leave car keys in car? Don't be surprised if it isn't there anymore.

Settlers can borrow it too - take the core out after parking.

Never had her jack Rusty, then again, I don't get out of it often unless I'm propping him up on the rack.

Wait for the power core to run out unless it lasts forever but than you would have someone in power armor who won't go down as easy.

Always take the power core. Or you could just kill her. Stealing your armor - I would seriously consider taking her out. And people wonder why I prefer my dog.

Woman, where is my super suit

I was wondering if others could use power armor since all I have been using thus far is dogmeat

I would prefer they use it cause they spawn next to you when you go far away and you run like a fatty fat fat in it

I feel stupid now, but thought I should share. If you click "talk" on a companion that have power armor on, you can then ask them to step out of it :)

Hey, the previous owner was not in need of it anymore as he was dead... Got a nice collection of 8 power armors lined up at a settlement now :)

You should be able to talk to her and trade with her. In that trade screen, highlight the armor you want her to wear and hit T to equip it.

Thanks for the power core tip, I've a collection of four power armor types on their racks at my main base (Red Rocket) so far and I'm glad I read this before I set up my power armor storage site since all of my companions minus codsworth are located there as well.

Wait, is that your first game that has companions? LOL

Anyway, I just use the Lone Wanderer perk and don't bother with Companions. Dogmeat got a nice little doghouse in Sanctuary. I rather leave him there, even so he can tear some stuff up! I just worry to much about him. Plus, companions always step into the line of your fire, psh. :D

As for PA, haven't worn it since the first time, when it was quest related... I just sneak around in my "Shadow Leather" armor pieces. :)

Yeah never leave a suit with a core, not only can companions control it, but human enemies can jump into your PA too.

Moving this to spoilers, just to be safe, but... fyi, if you just leave your power armor around and objective, with a useable fusion core in it, even human enemies will nab it and kill you. Heh.

Take the car keys, as someone said. :D

As a of topic side note, dogmeat doesn't disable the effects of the lone wanderer perk, just so ya know

Like I said I feel pretty stupid in hind sight for missing that, but I assumed it would be on the first set of dialogue options or in the equipment menu or something... D:
