The real IMPORTANT QUESTION about the FPS experience

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 7:11 pm

Will we see our feet?

I mean.. I may seem picky but it's a "detailt" that EVERY game lacks, but it should be simple to do, isn't it?

Since there was a mod in Fallout:NV.

Do you think it's important? I know it's not essential in terms of gameplay or anythin but, it'd be a really nice touch!

It's only relevant if I can shoot myself in the foot by looking down.

There are mods for Oblivion, Skyrim, and both Fallouts that actually handle it really well and simply. Even let you stay in first person for some animations like sitting in a chair or riding a horse; other first-person animations (like Skyrim's lycanthropy, or chopping wood) make it kind of evident why they have to put you in third person for that.

The graphics, as many people have pointed out, are not very sophisticated. Hopefully this means we will finally get this long-awaited, too often/borderline embarrassingly missing feature. I completely understand and in some ways agree with the disappointment over the graphics, however, my immediate response to them being bad was the hope that they are going to spend the resources elsewhere and have really great physics or NPC interactions/relationships or some sort of huge benefit as the processing power is devoted to other things besides more polygons, textures, lighting, etc. Or they are just lazy. Hopefully it'll at least run very well.

I would prefer not to be able to see my feet, they'd just get in the way of me trying to pick up items on the ground. my first thought is the memory of trying to find the medic power armor in old olney in FO3 and my constantly running past it because the armor looked a little too much like the boulders in the area around it. I literally searched for like 45 minutes before giving up and waiting til the next day to look it up online at the library. I don't need a silly ascetic getting in the way of my gameplay. but if there is an option to turn visable feet on I would be okay with that.

No. I play in 3rd-person only.

I wanted a full first person experience since Oblivion. FONV and Skyrim offered stable mods for that and I loved them. It improves immersion to me. Makes my character feel more like a character instead of a pair floating arms.
