Eternal fog

Post » Tue May 25, 2010 3:41 am

So it's been only about 10 days ingame so far, but I seem to have hit eternal overcast and foggy weather. I know the game uses fog to hide distant buildings and trees etc. if you're running your settings on low, but I'm not. I have everything on max. Has anyone else experienced a full week of continuous overcast and foggy weather, or have I hit some graphic issues? I miss the sun and the green hills =(

It happens, sometimes there's some really [censored] weather in the game for weeks on end.

I have experienced a full week of thunderstorms and overcast. Really made me smile when the sun came out. I'm on 360.

Same here, especially in the area between Skingrad and Bravil.
Oh, but I′m on PC so one time when I got really tired of it, I opened up the console and... :whistling:

I always get it around Anvil. Whenever I go to Anvil for the first time in-game, it's always raining, or something. :shakehead:

Well, you're in for a surprise then.

It's a swampy mess down south, filled with cats and lizards. Send a post card! :P

Since you can mod, try L.A.M.E ( less annoying magic experience ) among other fantastic features, it has a weather illusion spell that enables you to set it to what you wish.

Or in the north, with all the mountains, snow and total coldness. Bring a blanket :)

I got Frostcrag spire hoping for a good view, but after many many hours of play, I have seen only one clear day up on the mountain. It was a stunner, but I wish there were more.

It certainly might be a mod causing this. Streamline in particular will give you fog to try to boost your FPS.

I've only messed around with Landscape LOD's and QTP3, all of which I uninstalled as they slowed it down waaay too much. I can't find a good mod for better texture and resolution =/

If you are on the PC, just open the console and type in FW 38eee. Nice clear weather.

...eternal overcast and foggy weather.

Are you using the Natural Weather mod, by any chance? Natural Weather has been known to produce an over-abundance of gloomy weather for some people.
